I’m from Virginia, the southern part. My mother grew up as a sharecropper on different farms and many of them were hungry. My grandmother made the girls dresses from flour sacks that actually had patterns on them just so poor people could reuse the flour sacks to make clothes. My generation was spoiled and as you probably know most Americans now eat pretty good (perhaps too good because we’re all fat) I enjoyed this video and maybe one day would love to travel throughout the old ussr.

We really envy your side of the planet. We love Kazakhstan & the people. We really liked the gentleman who was playing word game with you & the lady between 16:00-22:00 who was in the beautiful yurt & talking nutrition. She was very pretty. You have immensely helped to improve our knowledge from your side of the planet ; so we are so grateful. Your videos would put Hollywood out of business. We are grateful to your mother & father for your birth. Hello to all of the Kazak people from our side of the pond- your SPECIAL. P.S. And Dimash is Special & our favorite singer. Eli, you are absolutely brilliant. Thank you taking us on these journeys and meeting wonderful people. I particularly liked the philosophy of food section and how Kazakhstan people work with the farmers. Also interesting how the area developed. I remember reading it's complicated history and this was a good refresher. We can critique Stalin for his collectivstion ideas and what a horrific outcome it was for all the peoples across The Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan but as you say, in 3 generations your countries have developed so uniquely and positively, except of course for the ongoing events in the West. Hopefully we see things getting better soon 🙏. Your presentations show me the close relations between Turkic and Russian people's and this can only be a good thing leading to more positive exchange and a good life. Be well and go well.

It's impressive you can read it. The Orkhon Gokturk Inscriptions, written in Old Turkic script and Northern Chinese, is one of the most fascinating artifacts in East Asia. It gives us tremendous color on what was happening during those centuries. One of the transliterations of Turk into Northern Chinese was 突厥, which mostly referred to the Gokturk clans. (For that reason, we often refer to the Gokturk Inscriptions as 突厥碑文.) We know that various Turkic clans used to rule the Mongolian steppe prior to the Mongol expansion, which is why you can find most of the ancient Turkic inscriptions and tombs in Mongolia and Southern Siberia. If I'm not mistaken The Turkic/Tatar word for water and derives from 水 and 茶 in Northern Chinese, since Turkic clans had countless military, political, economic, and culture contact with Northern Chinese dynasties from ancient times. There were many famous Turkic generals serving the Northern Dynasties.
