@@traumvonhaiti When tsars ruled Russia, kazakhstan did not exist. Go to any library in Western Europe and look up the world maps published before 1936. You will not find any kazakhstan on those maps because it did not exist. It was invented by bolsheviks after the 1917 bolshevik coup sponsored by the West. Kazakhs were nomads and were migrating around with their sheep and yurtas (wigwams). About 75 percent of the territory of today's kazakhstan is the territory of the Dzungar khanate. Dzungars were involved in two wars at the same time: with China and tuberculosis. They lost both wars and became extinct. Their territories were taken by the Russians. If the Russians did not take these territories, then China would have taken them. In any scenario, the territories would never become the property of kazakhs, who did not have a chance to stand against China. Nowadays, kazakhs can exist on these territories only under the military and diplomatic protection of Russia. Should Russia take the protection away, China will swallow you, kazakhs, in a blink of an eye. Eleven million kazakhs against one billion of Chinese. Tik-tack, tik-tack, China is waiting for its moment. It's coming... Let's see what will remain of you without the Russian "colonizers."

But again, you, kazakhs, will be erased by China, so that your falsifications of history will not last for long. The future is decided. There was a US-made documentary released several years ago, in which the Americans forecasted China taking over kazakhstan by year 2050, and the West will do nothing to help kazakhs. Tick-tack, tick-tack, year 2050 is approaching quickly...

Hi Eli! Your trip to Kazakhstan was very beautiful, it's just a shame that you found yourself at a time when there were earthquakes. It is a country with deep cultural roots that still maintains people who have inhabited it since time immemorial. Soviet culture is also very deep-rooted, like every part of Russia and the former nations that belonged to the USSR. Even in the people you interviewed, you can sense in them a deep traditional culture to which they are linked and they still live their lives based on it today and I think it is good that they are linked to this tradition of theirs and that they never abandon it. I really like the song which was originally the song of the Kazakh warriors which today is an artistic song which, in my opinion, should be popular all over the world. Your videos cannot miss a small representation of traditional local food which, in the case of Kazakhs, must be so tasty that it is worth eating on a trip to Kazakhstan. In any case, I am viewing this vlog with greater than normal interest as I recently saw another one on Kazakhstan which caused me to put it to the top of my list for a visit at some point in the next two years. It just seems a cool place with well-appointed cities which seem minutes away from unspoilt wilderness of at least the same quality as the Rocky Mountains, the Grand Canyon, and Yellowstone Park. Good call as the starting point for the big journey through Post-Soviet space. 👍

Great Video. I was in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in 2013. The People were WONDERFUL, and the Winter Sports Complex shown at the beginning was beautiful. I would love to go back. Besides the Etnic Kazahks, there are many citizens of Russian ethnicity. We also met many Germans, Japanese, and Chinese, the Grandchildren of former prisoners from the Soviet days. I visited the beautiful Russian Orthodox Church shown at time mark 6:30. Many were wide-eyed when they saw an American venerate the Icons. Made many friends in Almaty.

Hey Eli. Another wonderful & informative video. You never get used to earthquakes. We've had some big shakes in my country New Zealand the past 13 years. Three major ones demolishing buildings & landscapes, they were never a thing until 2010! Occasionally since we get reminders with sudden jolts & rolling shakes. We don't get out of bed for anything less than a 5.0 🙂

I watched an Armenian excursion recently, this is a post Soviet province , but the buildings are not as beautiful as in Kazakhstan. There are post earthquake formations of stoned lava in the hills of Armenia, called 'stone symphony' .

i honestly think that Kazakhstan is a fascinating destination that offers a blend of natural beauty, rich culture, and modern development. Traveling to Kazakhstan allows you to explore diverse landscapes, from the vast steppes and deserts to the stunning mountains and lakes. Key highlights include the futuristic capital city of Astana (now Nur-Sultan), the cultural hub of Almaty, and historical sites like the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. The warm hospitality of the Kazakh people and their unique traditions, such as eagle hunting and traditional yurts, add to the charm of visiting this Central Asian country.

Throat singing is awesome! ❤
@kts4375 ай бұрын
Throat singing is not a traditional Kazakh art. These Kazakhs and Turkish are nowadays aggressively claiming Mongolian indigenous art as their own! Very unethical....!!!! His explanations about throat singing is totally false. Throat singing was not shamanistic music at all. In recent years, these Turkic people including Kazakhs, Tatars, and Turkish are inventing false stories and claiming our indigenous Mongolian art as their own. This Tatar Russian woman named Eli or whatever she calls her name is purposefully propagating such false stories, as she is Tatar herself. Turkic people are extremely unethical and territorially aggressive!!!! As a Mongol, I feel disgusted with these Turkic people!!!
@wackyruss5 ай бұрын
That was incredible. I lived in Kaz for seven years and never heard a throat singer and assumed this was more of a Mongolian or Tuvan thing. That is so badass that Eli met a Kazakh Throat Singer! I’m a huge fan of the art form!
@kts4375 ай бұрын
@@wackyruss As a Mongol, I can tell that he is an amateur throat singer and his efforts to imitate an indigenous Mongolian throat singing is not even close at all. Overall, throat singing is an indigenous Mongolian intangible art but it is not a Kazakh traditional art at all. In recent years, the Turkish and Kazakhs try to claim indigenous Mongolian art as Turkic and they've been trying to imitate everything we do.

Eli, you are very impressive! I just discovered your channel, and have watched the video of your Moscow apartment, and e visit to your family up north. They are happy, friendly people, especially your young brother the chef! You have taught me that Russia has shopping malls with a lot of choices of stores, and that in the suburbs, people have their own houses instead of huge apartment blocks. You have more freedom than I was led to believe by my American media. And your English is excellent! You are well-traveled, with a natural curiosity about other cultures. Bravo! (I’m a 68 year-old retired teacher, living with my husband in California.). Please keep your videos coming!
