I've never liked Sterling. His attempts at making "signature" calls, like, "An A-bomb from A Rod!" and "The Grandy-man can!" just put me off. Also, while I know it's the Yankees organization demanding unswerving loyalty from their broadcasters, he's the most home town fanboy on the air, rarely calling it like it is if a Yankee blows a play, much less offering analysis on what was done wrong. Again, not completely his fault, and every broadcaster does some sort of rooting for their team. But he just leans into it a bit too much for me. If the front office told him to cluck like a chicken every time a Yankee hit a home run, he wouldn't hesitate to do it.
