Thank you. It was a rushed video. Sometimes when I find out someone is doing a DIY I am interested in I rush over there and make a video. If I see there is something there that can benefit someone I will post it. I hope to keep getting better as I go.

So far this has been the best set up, some people say just get a small aluminium boat, well the only problem with that is the limitations of only being able to access the areas polluted with other recreational watercraft and noise pollution. Kayaking enables the the nature enthusiast to access all areas, small channels and streams where you wouldn't dare take a boat. I've already crossed areas that are only 10cm deep and areas inaccessible by land so I now can access the best fishing spots and camping locations 👍
@WaynJul3 жыл бұрын
You can launch from many places. Go to more spots. You can get even shallower with a paddle board.

So did you just make it go max speed? Or is there different speeds determined by how many clicks of the knob? Reason I ask is I just bought one and it has 5 speeds forward and 3 in reverse.
@WaynJul3 жыл бұрын
It has five speeds forward and three reverse like yours. I helped my friend make his on my latest kayak mod. I lost the footage of the speed setting except Four and Five. Here is the link if you are interested in watching it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKe7hIGlhtJljKc

That's one way to add power to a kayak. Here in FL, you have to register the kayak when adding power. Annual registration with numbers affixed to the kayak. How does Texas handle this?
@WaynJul6 жыл бұрын
Yes we have to register but every two years.

Ok. Good effort. However, you went to all that trouble and didn't add in a PWM?! Missed opportunity to extend battery life.
@WaynJul5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your constructive criticism. I have helped several friends install modified trolling motors and DIY brackets on their kayaks. Some of them choose the PWM and others just used the #2064028 switch that came with the trolling motor. on another build a friend bought a trolling motor and we did add PWM control to it. In my latest video my friend got the new #2064028 five speed switch from the one that installed the PWM because he did not want to use a PWM control.
@jamesfox37845 жыл бұрын
@@WaynJul all good. I don't know why you wouldn't want a PWM but each to their own I guess. Your video was indeed helpful 👍

Can you send me a link of the parts you used for the yoke on steering? Thank you
Yes he is. The trolling motor was mounted on the side of the kayak on a board and wanted it like mine mounted on the stern for better control and tracking. He likes it better now. The difference is mine has foot steering ,his has tiller.
