Great video. Only thing is, I don’t know a single international student who actually makes old school calls anymore. Between WhatsApp, WeChat, FaceTime etc 99% of all calling a college student does to family and friends is covered.

3 months in to Visible base plan. Could not be happier. I’m an OTR truck driver. Zero issues nationwide. Base plan hot spot runs my iPad for Netflix and such no problem. 10:41 US Mobile international travel kinda sucks due to the high pings. In Mexico, traffic reroutes your data to the Netherlands, making you have 400+ ping. To make things worse, they choose the weakest networks in almost every country worsening the experience (some of these international carriers they partnered up with are abismal)

This is the old $29/month plan ($25/month for 3+ lines), they give you complimentary international esims (if you tweet this comment out I'll screenshot it for you), but their international esim data sucks. High pings along with terrible network coverage = chaos. This I know to be true only in Mexico.

@@StetsonDoggett Almost every single international esim provider is guilty of the same thing US Mobile is. All of the data traffic gets routed to some server who knows where that could be located nowhere near the country you are in. The only way to get decent data internationally is buying data from that country (from the right carrier too.)

This is typical for all "international" eSIMs to route traffic somewhere in Europe, as they are all based on a few MVNO platforms, and US Mobile is only one of their resellers. Use their own eSIM home plan to have your traffic routed via a US MNO.

I got my iPhone 15 pro max in the Boost promotion, after 4 months of use I can say that the coverage has not been as bad as I read in other videos, I have gone to places like forests where it has worked quite well for me and something I discovered was that it is not 30GB but 50GB that they give, but for some reason they do not want to tell the public.

Hmm, who uses regular text messages and calls these days? To have cheap access to all three major US carriers, consider: 1. Cheapest 360-day Red Pocket plan ($30 + sales tax per year) for voice and text service. 2. A travel data-only eSIM for around $1.55 per gigabyte (minimum is 3GB for $4.65). However, there’s one issue: your IP address will be from Poland. Switching between carriers is quick, taking about a minute - you will choose the carrier in the phone settings, no customer service needed. I haven’t tried automatic switching yet, but it can work in theory.

I just switched to the US Mobile 2 gig plan. I realized how much wi-fi I truly have access to. All of my friends have it at their houses, I of course do at home, and here's the kicker: my grandfather is an xfinity customer and he is okay with me using his credentials to use their hotspots around town and whereever they happen to be, so I will pretty much be on wi-fi all the time.

With boost mobile if you chose the pro max and then chose to trade in for another iPhone after one year do you have to pay any additional fee for pro max or is it just the roughly $10 per month? If there is no other fee then $130 or so per year for a $400 upgrade seems like a good deal.

I dont get the Boost plan as a deal. $65 is even with a phone. You can get a better plan for $25 and pay under $40 for an iPhone/Android if you finance thru Apple/Samsung/Google. The only benefit Boost gives you is free upgrades every year, but your phone is always locked.

You are absolutely correct. I think what Boost Mobile offers is a convenient way to get a free iPhone today, and then have the option to upgrade every year. You don't need to finance through Affirm or any other company; everything is just handled directly by Boost Mobile. It is simple, convenient, and not too much more expensive than buying unlocked and grabbing a $25 unlimited plan. Just depends on what you want in a plan and how often you like to upgrade your phone.

@@StetsonDoggett There's gonna be a credit check either way, be it thru Boost or Apple/Samsung. Maybe Boost is more liement on the credit check? Not sure. I've financed a few devices thru Samsung directly and had 0% APR with a 24 month term. Ultimately I think that yearly upgrade is what would sell Boost the most.

Damn, it is so expensive in the usa. In france we have an operator called free that gives you unlimited data/hospot and everything for 10$/month (including 30go of 5G in 120+countries). Speeds are never limited and go up to 1.5Go/s in the real world (they claim 5go/s)

in india we have $4/month plan, with unlimited 5g and 2gb/day 4g, speeds go upto 1gbps, but usually we get about 400-500mbps, enough for 100% of people.

I graduated college a year ago. But I swear that yearly plan at number one for $210 a year is pretty good considering you can switch networks so there isn’t really an excuse not to get it. We pay about $215 a month for six lines on T-Mobile currently. If I wasn’t on a family plan I would definitely go for either this plan or visible plus it comes with an Apple Watch line. Great video.

I would no go with either of those. Tello Mobile has a $6 plan with 1 GB of date, 100 mins, unlimited texts. I've heard good things about Tello. Still would say US Mobile is better, esp with their support.

A hotspot is a feature that allows you to use your phone as a means to connect other devices to the internet without a cellular connection, effectively transforming your phone into a Wi-Fi router. When you see "5GB hotspot" for a plan, that means you can use up to 5GB of data at the speeds listed on your plan for hotspot connected devices, after you exceed the data cap your speeds will be slowed down to basically unusable speeds.

I chose not to include Mint Mobile because I believe the other plans are a better value. Mint Mobile's $15 unlimited plan is only for new customers, and the price increases to $30/month after your first 3 months. For just $25 per month, you can get truly unlimited data from Visible. Or, if you want T-Mobile coverage, you can get Metro by T-Mobile's $25 unlimited plan. This also has truly unlimited data. Mint Mobile's unlimited plan comes with 40GB of high-speed data, and then slows your speeds to 512Kbps. I feel the other plans are an overall better option because they are more affordable and come with truly unlimited high-speed data.
