@@assholeoutlaw insecure? Firstly, her comics have been forcing a feminist agenda which is why it's been rebooted in the last 15 or so years. It’s an empowering line that’s kind of a big double-edged sword, really. Especially in context to what’s going on in this scene. Steve, an expertly professional spy, is in the middle of a highly sensitive operation; he’s TRYING to infiltrate enemy circles, and find the ridiculously deadly gas weapons before more innocent people die. But Diana is ridiculously short-sighted on what Steve’s doing (also marginally ignoring the fact that he’s been doing this for YEARS, and yet he remains alive; which speaks entire libraries’ worth of testament to his skill and aptitude as a spy.) She’s also single-mindedly hellbent on killing the man she just haphazardly assumes is Ares - thinking that killing him anywhere at any time will lift a dark-magical spell of madness from all of the people fighting this war, and that nothing bad will happen any more, ever again, once she does this. On all accounts, she was dead wrong and ignorantly stubborn here. And if she’d gotten her way here, *everything* would have gone to absolute shit, regardless of how powerful she is, or what her idea of just just and honorable actions are. So the fact that women seem to rally around this line is confusing to me. Cause if anything, it’s a line that encapsulates how being too strong willed, ignorant, stubborn, and unwilling to listen can completely destroy your goals and get innocent people hurt and/or killed. Female power? Great. Good going. But *listening to each other* could also be a beat we can all dance to,... right?

3:35 Be wary of those who speak in terms of individuals sacrificing themselves for a higher cause, but are unwilling to sacrifice themselves to anywhere near the extent they expect of others, their cause is usually supremely corrupt. Similarly, be wary of those who only stand in front of others on high podiums and spew hateful dictum to incite them to commit actions for some higher cause, but do not back up their inevitably false speech with any meaningful action themselves. They can be contrasted with those who come *from* Love, *think* Love, *speak* Love, *do* Love, to the extremes of sacrificing their lives *for* Love. In circumstances where they could have easily saved themselves by uttering lies, but instead saved everyone else by upholding the Truth.

3:53 even though Ludendorff is a red hearing villain made to make the audience think he’s Ares, once you realize he’s not Ares it actually makes monologues like this more unsettling. He isn’t saying this because he’s Ares the embodiment of war, he’s saying this because he truly believes men can only become great on the battlefield after killing all of their enemies. And even more unsettling is that this later becomes an ideology many German soldiers who felt robbed of victory developed after WWI and arguably fueled the toxic ideologies they developed and lead them to start WWII.

Is it wrong that I looked for this specific clip for over 30 minutes just to hear Steve go on about how much he likes fire?

Can we take a minute and try to comprehend how Wonder Woman struggles with a mortal’s grip for a significant amount of time… to let Ares escape. “What are you doing. Let me go.” And then finally “You don’t control me (half shove thrown across the room).”
@fellowpassenger_54-678 ай бұрын
My best guess is that she was reluctant about using her strength on Steve at first but then just went with it when she realized that Steve wasn’t going to let go on his own But that aside, this is a weird trope where a superhuman character struggles with something they could easily overcome in less than a second so that the story does not end where it isn’t supposed to, it happens so much that most people myself included are probably accustomed to it at this point

I love how Gal Gadot, the actor, is an Israeli Jew. Just adds a whole other level to it.
@StuttGooner6 жыл бұрын
What kind of level does it add? there were thousands of jews fighting on both sides^^ In fact in the first world war, there was not a evil side like it's promoted in the movie, it was the pride of the aristocracy on all sides, as well as the treaties that brought the 1. WW over Europe^^
