I have a good friend who is a retired Lt Col USMC whom I worked DoD with for several years. To this day I thank him for his service dearly. I told him I am sorry I was never active duty, even though I tried but was turned down. The retired Lt Col told me "that's ok, you DID SERVE your country in a different way." Taking that to heart, while I do not know if Mr Bannon was ever active duty (he may, he may not have, I honestly do not know), but Yes, Mr Bannon DID SERVED and CONTINUES TO SERVE his country in most NOBLE manner.
