Its actually an Australian song about Australian rules football, its called 'Up There Gazaly'. Some Derby fans heard it in Australia and made a Derby version. Yes its a great song.

Shame he played before the age of television I would love to have seen him play. Incredible how he scored so many goals being such a small man and in a time when the rules heavily favoured defenders (less than 3 players between forward and goal was offside etc). People talk about Dixie Dean but Bloomer has to be up there with him.

This song is based upon ' Up There Cazaly ' a Aussie Rules song that was performed by Mike Brady 1979. Nothing wrong with it, just saying recognize the tune instantly, just lyrics have changed to suit Derby County.

Great story Connor ! Thanks for sharing. I remember, vividly, the Derby team of 1969 that won 1/0 at The Old Den,Millwall. Few teams won there. In fact between 1964/66 we set the ( then ) Football League record of 59 Home games without defeat thru' 3 Divisions. Now anyone can win at the sanitised ( compaeitively ) silent and soulless New Den. Used to love The Baseball Ground. A REAL Fooyball atmospheric Stadium ! Good Luck.
