People would say mini and ADO16 gearboxes were awful and refer to them as stirring a pudding back in the 1970's but all these people were crap drivers. I loved them and the sound they make is amazing

Already sub'd to Steve's channel, he's so knowledgeable and a joy to watch. Now to make myself unpopular, I'd put hubcaps on the original wheels and replace the tyres with Yokohamas.....I'll get my coat 😂

Rose petals are nice but I’d just get the chrome hub caps back on, they look too white at the moment. Maybe even colour code the hub caps ?

This is my old van! (I'm the magnetagz guy) Great to see her in good hands, I felt awful Curtis has issues with her but glad to hear it was just silt as she never let me down. I'll definitely be subscribing and keeping up with her new life... Even though its a little hard to see her and not mine 😂 P.s, although I loved the white walls n steelis, those rose pettles look great. 👍

My clubman estate had 10" mini special wheels drums all round. I've got 7.9s and same wheels fit on little bit of poke. I need new tyres and the wheel weights moving in to miss the calipers.

I would say the whitewalls, more suited for the Mini Van. I would say the other ones is more suited for the Cooper S/Clubman.

He just gets away with it mate as his van was manufactured before the cut off date. It goes off the build date not the registration date I remember Steve looking into it when the new rules came out

Hi Mike, as Toony mentions, mine is a 1979 build. This has been confirmed by Heritage at Gaydon, and the DVLA have agreed mine can wear them based on that date. But you're right, it's cutting it fine, but to be honest, most coppers wouldn't know anyway 😂

13" wheels on a mini is only good for a racetrack, which needs proper setting up! On the road its just horrible to drive (my 1996 Blue Star Spi had factory-fitted Rover SportPack 6x13") and I've driven better.. Friend of mine converted his 1998 Mpi to S-brakes and 6x10 Revolution with Yokohama 008's which made it great fun to drive! 63bhp dont need more than 7,5" S-brakes. A proper Mk1-3 S' had 76bhp and was alright with those brakes. Still think Steve is doing the right thing trying to fit 7,9" discs. Oh and the Mini's suspension was designed for 10" wheels, so go figure why it handles best with them.

Imho those white steels and white wheels look super nasty and cheap. It's not a vw and white walls look odd on that size wheel. Clean tyres and rosepetals or an alt 10'' wheel look a lot better and work a lot better. Steels in their original silver would also look far better. 13'' should not even be crossing your mind haha. Don't cut the panels. Just my 2 pence.
