Powell's put together such a sick team. Their style's hit different, and they vibe so well together. Love it.

This was my first ever pro deck over 30 years ago, not this colour though, gulwing trucks and sawblades. I’m currently eyeing up a Buckey Lasek flight deck but in the UK it is so expensive.

How come Andy isn't in these?
@JessicaSimonson19763 жыл бұрын
@@johndont1273 but Andy moved to California I thought? So that he can practice in California Olympic training facility. And he is featured in many videos for Braille Team. Plus as a 80's skate I never skated anything over a 1/4" riser...I always skated 57-70 mm wheels too. I thought that 1" risers afforded no real stability. And if they broke your trucks couldn't really be tightened down due to exceptionally long hardware.
@JessicaSimonson19763 жыл бұрын
@@johndont1273 he sets his boards up with 1/4"-3/8" risers only when running mini logo trucks. Otherwise no riser.
@JessicaSimonson19763 жыл бұрын
@@johndont1273 look up Andy talks about his board setup nine club. Also he shows you in another video of him setting up a deck. Smallest wheels I skate are 54's largest 70's 1/8" and 1/4" risers never 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1". And I have a few 80's decks and reissued decks. But all decks I have either get a soft riser pad or hard riser in 1/8"....don't skate without them....as cause undo stress on wood causing stress cracks. The riser acts as a shock absorber. Transferring the shock into the riser.

Yeah, he's great & all. But he's also lucky to be alive! No, I'm not talking about too many broken bones & all. But inside of his head could somehow get scrambled. I would know about this as I'm a survivor of having a head injury because of skateboarding, especially over 33 years ago. THRASH-ON, though!
