A very underrated musician. Lots of good albums. Often played here.

What an absolute legend. All his songs were lyrical master pieces. Love his harp playing. How he gets that trill sound. He has it all. His song writing just blows me away. Superb singing voice. I have doubles of his CDs so I can't keep them in the car as well as in the house.

I blinked once from the same record is incredible. I bought the album when it came out and didn’t take it off the turntable for months. He deserves SO much more acclaim.

ADRIAN McMANUS ~ You got that right sir! At the time, this album was probably Forbert's most viable, and commercially accessible to date. It still didn't have enough promotion from the label. I liked it much better than what Springsteen was doing. For that matter, I didn't much care for anything Bruce released in the 80s.

@@slimshine953 I more or stopped listening to Bruce after Nebraska, which was 80-81, yeah. Hope, Faith and Love is also a killer, and Search Your Heart the perfect finale. 100% quality.

@@ADRIANMcMANUSgastro-winetours ~ Actually Nebraska was released in '82. The River was in 1980... but yeah that's when I stopped paying attention to Springsteen. Not that I was an avid fan prior to Nebraska, but there was a handful of songs that stood out for me on the first three or four LPs. The '73 to '78 period.

@@waynejohanson1083 Absolutely. Alive On Arrival was the Forbert door for me. It’s stood the test of time as well.
