Your envelope is kept and your ballot is tossed. A replacement ballot is put in your envelope and counted. Upon a "recount", your envelope is shown to "verify" that you voted, but the ballot that replaced your ballot is now "recounted" and the same result comes out. I have made the argument about people and polls for years. People will tell you one thing in a poll but when it becomes election day, they will always vote their party. For example, a poll I saw recently asked democrat voters if they were happy with Biden, overwhelmingly most all of them said no. They were then asked would they vote for him again and about 99% of them said yes.

I can see that. I always vote for the party that bests aligns with my life. Let’s say I find a candidate from the opposite party who supports one or two of my issues, those issues will get diluted with the 100s of other issues and a candidate will or should vote with their party at least 51% of the time or they’re in the wrong party. The number might be closer to 90-95% of the time, I haven’t looked it up. So to support my issues, I’m always going to vote for the party. Not saying it’s correct, just my way.

The whole point of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence is that good government is a fundamental right, and independence is necessary for good government. Countries should be based on shared values. It is impossible for normal people to have good government in the "united" states.
