Thank you Mr Gleason. My husband passed away from ALS in 2008. You, your amazing son by your side, and your whole community are in my deepest heart. Knowing how hard it is to even get into the award ceremony; I will watch and share this speech every chance I get. You’re definitely a hero to us.

His son realizes what a treasure his dad is! Steve has so persevered in adversity. Done amazing selfless acts for others. He is not consumed with himself but keeps pouring out to help others. To think he cannot even scratch an itch on his own, but look what he has done. Amazing vision and heart for service. Much love and respect to the whole Gleason clan for making a difference. Steve...courage off the charts!

God I can't imagine how awful it must feel knowing you're a burden on your loved ones; knowing your own simple existence makes everyone else's day harder. Coupled with the physical manifestations of the disease, this guy has endured more than the vast majority of humans in history. For him to still fight on, made props Steve. You are a blessing.
@franiscoflores95116 ай бұрын
He has done so much for others with ALS to provide them with equipment and fast. He is still a person and not everyone feels the same. I met a lady not to long ago and her husband had ALS and passed and drained all their bank accounts to stay alive and live with no consideration to her ...some with ALS want to decline all TX and die quicker to take the burden off the family.. it's an individual decision and one no one should have to make ever.
@litagraefrealtor17365 ай бұрын
He is truly an inspiration to those with ALS. My mother in law was diagnosed over a year ago now and his foundation has helped get her the equipment she needs to make her life easier day to day. We are thankful for them.

Thank you, Mr. Gleason, for your generosity and for thinking of others who'd have to deal with this diagnosis after your experience. You are the bravest person I've ever heard of. I'm praying for your healing: Lord God Almighty, I command ALS to leave Mr. Gleason's body and be nailed to the Cross, because it is Jesus's will that all be healed. So be it. Mr. Gleason, we love you and your family. God bless you.

I closed the Superdome 5 days after Katrina. Steve Gleason reopened it one year later with a blocked punt against the Atlanta Falcons, the Saints biggest rival in their NFC SOUTH division, resulting in a touchdown as the Saints won on Monday night football and it started the healing and rallied the city of New Orleans and gave everybody here a reason to hope that we as a city would get better after Katrina destroyed it; that we were resilient and would do what it takes to rebuild our city. We were like the ants that got their antpile kicked over. Steve Gleason led the charge to rebuild that antpile. .... ☝️⚜️ #37⚜️
