Discipline is my favorite song from the album because the balance of dark and light combine with a religious theme. I appreciate the video shows the dark shadow within all us that we must face. I was hoping to see more religious themes in the music video. The song to me represents the struggle being gay and raised Catholic. I used to let mine inner darkness torture me until I learned to love and accept myself. I love the moment when the dark shadow stab itself but it was Steve who was bleeding. The dark shadow Steve offering him whiskey before he makes some bad decisions was too relatable like this last weekend relatable. After rewatching the video, I believe the older man was suppose to represent Jesus which should have been obviously from the line, "Jesus be my daddy'. (Faceslap) It was only after he started to have romantic feelings for this father figure that the shadow Steve came out which represented him struggling to accept his sexulaity. The shadow went away after he touched his heart which I took to meant that he finally admits to himself that he is gay. Once he admits that he is gay, the older gentlemen is dead aka the death of Jesus. Genius. I felt the same way when I came out. Admitting that I was gay felt like I was being forced out of heaven and the church. It was made clear to me from some people around me that I could not be gay and catholic. It took a long way to find my path back including sleeping with the pastor's son but I was able to find the light again. I learn that I could be gay and catholic. This gay prays. A-men.

Except that the title is Disciple, not Discipline. A disciple is a person who learns from another, especially one who then teaches others while discipline is a controlled behavior; self-control.

I am a gay singer/songwriter myself ( It would be wrong of me to assume that you are because of this video alone) but I am also in an intergenerational relationsip (17 years and going strong), I was also brought up a roman catholic and have had to deal with some mental health issues due to my ubringing in the church and my sexuality, this video spoke to me on so many levels. I just wanted to say thank you for being so brave to put this out there in way that I have always wanted too but never found the courage or the direction too. I mostly play my music in the folk world which seems intrinsically stuck in it's ways and due to being open about what I do and who I am, it somehow feels like a barrier for moving forward constructively. So just keep up the good work, and keep putting more great music into the world, I have for a very long time felt like there was very little music out there that represented where I am at. This is slightly a bit pop oriented for my taste musically but the lyrics are astounding, your voice is beautiful and your passion is on top form. Namaste fellow traveller x
