I saw both shows at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, Collingswood, NJ on 16 & 17 February 2018 and met Steve on the 16th. A very nice and talented gentleman

There are actually some Original Genesis fans who don't realize Steve is still making new music and performing their classics. He had/has more creativity than the rest of Genesis combined and a seemingly endless musical muse.

The night Steve performed in Melbourne I was with a friend prior to the gig who had only seen Genesis on the IT Tour, as I left to head towards the gig i said to him " A gig that only non plastic Genesis fans would understand"

Heard Steve play once. Not too shabby on the guitar. But this is mainly Peter Gabriel's song. And here's the irony- Peter got fooled (by the GESM).

Instrumentation is great, vocals are mediocre

I know there's ongoing debate about the vocalist. The only thing I would say is that this isn't him at his best - I think he's overall pretty good, but this just isn't a great performance. Seems like an off-night.

Problem being, he's always going to be judged against Phil and Peter when he's doing Genesis material. Those guys were just plain phenomenal vocalists whereas this guy and Steve are decidedly average. Incredible guitarist though.

@@montemallin7119 agree ... Nad’s vocals can be transcendent on a good night, this was a bit off ... tired from the road

@@showbox2084 - Gotta say, that guy sounds damn near identical to Gabriel. Very proggy rendition. Personally, I like the way the late 70s Genesis attacked the song - more like a power ballad with powerful prog interludes. Phil did a more melodic rendition which knits the various parts together better than Peter's fits-and-starts staccato interpretation.
