I was absolutely devastated when my husband came downstairs and told me the dreadful news of Steve passing away. I bought Steve a pint when I was 16 yrs old at the Portman Hotel in London, where he came and joined Emperor Roscoe (Mike Pasternak) Radio 1 DJ, on stage. Two years ago we went to The Assembly, Leamington Spa and watched Steve and some fantastic musicians play live. It was a magical night. He told several people in the audience off for filming him with there torch lights on, said he couldn’t see us. I never thought that would be the last time we would get to see him. Sadly missed, but definitely lives on through his amazing music. R.I.P. you wonderful musician

Saw the first gig they did supporting Man at Ewell Polytechnic. If I wasn't with friends, I would have left during Mans appalling performance, and probably been able to catch the bus back to Tolworth instead of walking. Rebel absolutely outclassed Man. New. Fresh. No lead guitar solos. Clockwork Orange suits and bowler hats. Fantastic. The only band I've ever seen more than four times, and each with different line ups. I've only got the best of CD now, but it's still refreshing to give it a spin now and again. Another parting of a great talent. Not many left now. 🍨

I bought this on a 12" single when it was first released and used to worship this song, perhaps even more than everything else he did. Perhaps not, I love everything he did, almost. However, the way he has grown into that song surpasses by a mile, even its original self. I don't think I can think off the top of my head that I would rather see any other song performed live above this.
