Wouldn't it be a fitting tribute to the GREAT MAN to see 'Sebastian' released and reach the ears of the general public just to show what a magical & brilliant song this really is. Remember those early Cockney Rebel gigs in the 70's and to hear this alongside 'Mirror Freak, 'Death Trip' etc it really was like living in a dreamland after Steve gave such resounding performances of these beautiful, ferocious but tender songs. You were up there with the likes of Dylan & Bowie in the songwriting stakes. Miss you buddy. Rest In Peace. Condolances to Dorothy, Kerr & Greta.

I heard this song for the first time more than 42 years ago. At that time I had just started my service in the navy and was serving on board. We had MC's and the famous Walkman, I listened to his music “up and down”, but especially the song “Sebastian” The Lord will give him a special place in heaven

I was just 17 yrs old living in South Wales hearing the original 7" single for the first time played every night on Radio Luxembourg (RIP also ) 208medium wave transmission - about Nov/Dec 1973 through headphones... never heard of Cockney Rebel but it was very intense and blew me away. What an absolute classic. Thank you Steve Harley, be at peace now and forevermore.

By 14 I refused to join a band with major management unless they changed their name to SEBASTIAN which they promptly agreed to & they were'nt the only ones to be gifted with that name by me. 🙂🙃😉

I discovered the band and especially this song in the late '80s, being at the and of my teenage years and wanting to explore a bit more of Glam Rock. Thusly I bought some greatest hits albums of bands I assumed to match the pattern (it wasn't that easy to get knowledge of your preferred music) and several really worn through second hand records but it was this song that made frantic. Passing on the song within mix-tapes some years later, I experienced that friends had the same feeling about the song. Brings me back to the time of this recording: If only I had known they still performed... Thanks a lot for making this video possible and contributing to the archive! @thomrapp Can't believe, it has been 48 years - but then again, 1973 is really way back
