Yeah it’s crazy how much the show really does a ‘show don’t tell’ with Steve. We’re dropped little things from Steve like his dad being “a grade-a asshole” & he would kill Steve if he found out what substances he had at his parties. While on the other hand, his mother is either valid in her concern about her husband cheating on her or she’s paranoid. Their business trips, it seems tend to turn into vacations, so they’re gone for like weeks on end. It’s interesting in this really sad way when you realize how many main characters’ and sub main, parents we see, and Steve’s is like the only ones we don’t.

And even though Steve never gets the girl, he still helps them out and is respectful of their relationships. I believe that he could have squashed J if he had wanted to, I do believe that Billy won though because Billy is a lot stronger. I think that maybe Steve has a few issues because he beat up a Russian guard, a man trained to hurt people and he couldn’t win other fights which were probably a lot easier? Tommy and Carol made fun of him cause he cared and was worried about her in a episode in season 1. Steve was the most loyal boyfriend to Nancy and he basically got cheated on. But that didn't stop him from loving her. Steve said "Nancys different she's not like other girls." there was just something about her that made him love her so much!!!! He became a better person because he wanted to be with her. He changed for her. Steve wants to be with Nancy but he knows she doesn't wanna be with him. That's why when he said "it's ok nance. Steve the guy who always was there fighting the demegorgon and demedog, helping Dustin saving (the world) and being friends with all the kids, this guy sure is someone gonna miss ya Steve hope I’ll see you in season 4

not once were his parents shown in all 4 seasons, shows how is he neglected as a child and probably why he cares for kids and treats them nicely cause he was never cared for and treated like that

Very well edited and very hard to watch at the same time. I think there's a lot of depth to Steve's character; even in the first season, you could see he had a good heart but lacked a support system/good influences. I also think it's telling we've literally never seen anyone from his family and all we get are tidbits like "my father's a grade A asshole" and indications that they're gone a lot/his dad cheats on his mom. Anyway, all I'm trying to say was this was beautifully done and the parallels and characterization all make it so poignant- which you just don't see enough of from Steve videos in my opinion. Great, great job and phenomenal editing. Thanks so much for sharing!

I’m watching this 4 years later and I gotta say the editing and emotion there is in this is incredible. The different parts of Steve that you display are so different from what we see now in season four, ‘the mom’ and funny and all that, but we kinda missed some of these parts in passed seasons.

I think it is by far the best tribute to Steve I've found on the internet. The song choice, the scenes and of course the parallels makes everything go so smoothly I had to watch it a second time just to pin what made me cry so much watching this. I totally agree with you with the quote, when I first heard it I immediately took it out of context and felt so attached to him since the beginning, I hope Steve will feel better in season 3 because I couldn't stand the last scene of him looking at Nancy before leaving

Steve would do anything for his friends, for the kids and i think that is the most admirable thing someone could possess. he lives for his friends and he cares so much about them and you could see that love and care grow throughout the seasons. he has gotten his ass beat to the ground to the point he can't breathe to protect those kids. he has done unspeakable things just to protect his friends so they didn't have to do it instead. i love Steve with my whole heart and i never will not love him. Steve deserves the whole entire world and I won't stop preaching him until he gets said treatment.

THIS VIDEO IS BEYOND BEAUTIFUL! I love Steve so much, since season 1 he was one of the best character, the one with a really great development. I love the fact that you showed the deeper & lonliest part of him, not just the fun, light one. He's such a complex and facinating character. He's very alone, with no real freinds, no parents to support him, but still, he's always there to help people. This video shows all the things that make him amazing! GREAT GREAT GREAT

Going along with the, “no parents, big house” thing, where are his parents? I mean, in the story, this whole thing spans like 3 years, and where are Steve’s parents throughout this? Like, he gets beat up, yet his parents don’t even help him or anything? If they’re there in the first place?

Aghhhhhh this is absolutely FANTASTIC and captures SO much about Steve's character. I've heard people say that they don't like Steve because he doesn't redeem himself from what he did in season 1, or because he wanted to pretend like nothing had happened, but this highlights his inner struggle so well. I love this so much, incredible work!
