Joe Rogan and Steve Harvey explained it best. Will Smith is so far removed from reality that he thinks his life is a movie and he's the main character. That fact that he did that and then just turned around and sat back down, with no expectation or concern for the immediate legal repercussions that anyone else would have been subject to if they unfairly assaulted another adult in a professional environment, said it all.

I love how Jim Carrey was quick to correct Gail King when she tried to claim that " She wished things hadn't escalated to this point" and Jim correctly said it "didn't escalate it came out of the blue." With her saying things escalated it's a subtle way of trying to give a little pass to Will Smith, and Jim Carrey was having none of it. Well done.

Big respects ✊ to the OG’s like Kareem and Jim Carrey for not condoning this.
@turc16562 жыл бұрын
It's more than just not condoning, though. A lot of the Hollywood types are trying to say it was unacceptable but at the same time double speak out the other side of their mouth and sort of justify it because they don't want to burn bridges or be on the wrong side of the Twitter mob. So they are all being really careful and measured in their responses instead of just speaking their mind. People like Jim Carrey and a few others are the only ones going full in on the utter embarrassment this was for Will and Hollywood as a whole. That dipshit managed to make his entire industry look bad and ruined the night for the people who came right after him as well as taking the entire spotlight for the whole night. I read that the academy has a quick meeting during the commercial break to discuss whether or not to remove him from the event by security and they voted against it. Disgraceful.

Smith wouldn't have had any legal recourse if Rock pressed charges. I agree with what Carrey and Abdul-Jabbar said.

Why would they condone it? I don’t think anybody condoned it. Some people were just saying the understand why he did it. But it literally doesn’t matter what Jim Carey thinks. He’s opinion is as relevant as all of ours. It ain’t.

It saddens me that people regard Jim Carrey as crazy. He’s truly one of the most intelligent people in sense of being awoken to what’s real, what’s important, what matters etc. yet, he’s incredibly talented and funny. People always look down on those who go against the grain and it’s sad.

@@devinrentschler7550 Is that factual or just your opinion? Because crazy and genius go hand-in-hand so consistently that crazy is widely believed to be a staple of significantly higher intelligence.
