Friends, please don’t be misled. I truly believe Steve meant well when he said this, but the scripture he referenced does not support asking God for success and happiness that results in only pleasing yourself. If we take a look at the verse after the one he mentioned, it says (James 4:3), “And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong- you want only what will give you pleasure.” Now, if you truly want your existence to change, repent (turn away from your sins and patterns of sinning) and put your trust in Jesus. The eternal pain and suffering that would be given to you as a consequence for your sins will be taken away once you repent and put your trust to be saved in Jesus. He lived, died, and resurrected for that purpose.

God is not concerned about how much we earn in this life. We're clearly told that the love of money is the root of all evil. Nothing wrong with money itself. That's just a tool, like a fork and knife. But people who have lots of money almost always end up worshiping the money. God's real children won't have a lot in this lifetime. Our Treasures are stored in heaven, where moths and rust can't get to them. Prosperity Gospel will lead you straight to hell. The way is narrow and few find it. Being a success as a person has nothing to do with how much money you earn. It's all about how you love God and how you treat others. THAT is what makes you a success.
