Brilliant interviews with Hodgey. Absolute class. I started watching Forest in 87, and he’s right, we were a fantastic team ⭐️🌳⭐️

As a kid, i went to watch Gedling Miners Welfare play a match and Steve Hodge was there. One of my favourite Forest players. We bugged him for his autograph and couldn't believe we were sat with him. Really nice bloke.

Hodge and Webb the best central midfield pairing I've seen at Forest. Worked in tandem perfectly together.

Loved Hodge when i was a kid watching that beautiful late 80s team. Amazed at the Roy Keane dressing room story, had heard it before but thought it was one of those made up tales. Just goes to show that Cloughie knew exactly the calibre of player he had, like gold dust.

Chippers, just when I think you can't get any better you outdo yourself. These Hodge ones are right up there with the very, very best. What a guy, love him, an absolute childhood hero of mine, and it's brilliant that he's so close to the club now. That second great Clough team isn't underrated by anyone that saw it. It was a magical side filled with some of the very best Forest players ever, indeed some of the best players to grace the top-flight ever. Maybe only a money spinning European run away from being able to sign the player or two that could have seen us be Champions again (which like others is why I'll always want Liverpool to lose every time they play). If Steve wants the ultimate complement from Clough it's this - he re-signed him after turning him down not once, but twice! First with his transfer request, then with the initial contract second time round. Brian wasn't scared to wash his hands of people he felt had snubbed him, if he didn't really, really rate and respect Steve there's no way he'd have made that call to offer that improved contract. He shouldn't feel too bad about starting on the bench in '91 either. If you've got a great player like Keane who isn't 100% it makes sense to start him and see how he gets on, then sub him if he breaks down, rather than bring him on, see him break down, and be down to 10. Plus he got on the pitch, and forever will be able to say he played in an FA Cup Final. I know it was slightly different back then, but nowadays of course it's no big deal for even the best players to start on the bench. Anyways, a great interview about a truly great career, with a truly great player, who seems like a truly great bloke. Fine work Robin!

Class! And very honest. Good to hear about Mr Clough hating non football!

Brilliant conversation, thank you Doesn’t look like the $$$’s earned from selling that shirt, have catapulted our Steve into a jet set lifestyle (Footballers back bedrooms, seeing a lot of them on the Channel)

Can't forgive Liverpool fans for what they took away from Forest all those seasons. It's not unlikely that a few Europe runs in the late 80s would have put us in a far stronger position come 1992/93...

I do think Cloughie made mistakes in his last few seasons. The 92-93 season was virtually nothing but mistakes. I think booze really got the better of him. Still the greatest of all time though
