Some of us knew! I was there, and struggling trying to create apps for Windows CE and it was hellish. Apple was still skittish about opening up the entire API for app development in those day, preferring to point developers to a java environment for app deployment, but once the iphone was jail broken, and alternative app stores starting popping up, Apple learned the error of their ways and opened up the app store. The rest is history

I will be honest, I was there for the unveiling of this and at least as far as my party and myself were concerned, we had absolutely no idea. There were rumors of a widescreen iPod, but the iPhone was a total shock. Looking back now on what a pivotol moment this was in terms of electronic inventions and communication... I still can't believe I was lucky enough to be there and in the same room, witnessing it go live for the very first time. I will never forget this moment so long as I live :)

I remember owning this original iPhone. It was an absolute train wreck compared to modern smartphones, but you have to understand: going from an original RAZR phone, to this was literally a giant step into the future. I remember this phone fondly, until I remember how fragile the sync cable was. Still, good times.

@theharshtruthoutthere Жыл бұрын
@@rake1087 When sharing advice/opinions/ about schools and doing drugs: Turn your advice about schools around, PARENTS HOMESCHOOL you own offspring, cause the government ain+t caring and have clearly said that many times. About drugs? Correct here, stay away. But there is one big problem none of us take into account: TVs - the most popular drugs in every household. Daily watching TV = doing drugs daily. The MK ULTRA MIND CONTROL - search, soul, and start giving out real valuable advice. Stop repeating whatever the TV (most powerful weapon formed against humans minds) spreads. And souls, homeschool your offspring fully out from school programs or the home-schooling of yours and homeschooling at all. And youth, teach yourself, search. Once you received the basic knowledge (writing, reading, doing math) you then can go on on your own. Have hunger for truth/knowledge in you and nothing more is needed, for the tools computer and internet and books is available and in daily use any way. Therefore don´t just waste your time and read and own random books, which is written only for the itchy ears, but always seek out the real deals, which help you gain in knowledge. Evolution of Television 1920-2020 (updated) - the greatest weapon ever created. And as we promo the A. I and all the ways it can be used, we promo deceiving others and being deceived.

I don't agree that was the most important feature, and it definitely wasn't BY FAR. That feature was just the result of the whole physical UI change of the phone, which made it easy to use not only for calling and messaging, but plenty of other things as well, and one of them obviously being browsing the internet.

Shane Gremory that’s a fair point, but I mean I live in a relatively affluent part of London and the newest iPhones are still considered overpriced for what they offer in comparison to other phones running android. @@whillard2447 How was iPhone X pretty good? it's just one more iteration of their overpriced phones with nothing really new other than spec updates, and that huge ugly notch because they can't come up with a creative solution for a full body screen. Not to mention iPhone 11, biggest dump on their consumers' face in a while, 1000 dollars for a phone that shipped with the worst ever iOS, it was so buggy people had to go out of their way to rollback. I was born in 1989. The world felt genuinely different before 2007. All you had were those flip or slide phones. Now it’s internet and information on the spot. You can read about Operation Barbarossa or about radioactive half-life while waiting in line in the grocery store. You can log things on the fly. We have become so close to tragedies and accomplishments because of social media and phones. I feel like if you took a guy from 1980 and brought him to 2019, he wouldn’t even think of these as phones, but as mini PDAs. Practically a technological wallet containing all your notes, photos, music, finances, huge chunks on somebody’s life, on these little devices. It’s really wild to think about.

Also pretty overwhelming and dangerous to think about, too. But many don't see it that way because they are too addicted to their Smart phones or iPhones to see it. To me, THAT's the tragedy. I hope in time, more will wake up to realize this.

I agree but its the public who asked for a all-on-screen devices despite their numerous bugs and downsides (useless under sprinkling rain, fragile, very expensive to replace, etc). Im not convinced that the wall to wall onscreen keyboard is always an advantage. But we all wanted it to txt our useless facebook status. These keyboards are often a pain to use, lots of mistypes but we just "deal with it". Most of us forgot that the real keyboard was a lot easier and reliable.
