As a college professor, part of what I do is to try & awaken students to the realities of the US. I’m teaching a class this fall about the cultural politics of Hamilton the musical. The fact that our founding fathers are portrayed by people of color, telling the story in the language of hip hop & other contemporary music styles says a LOT about where the US is headed. I have a lot of faith in the upcoming generation & their tendency for cultural diversity. Not all, but certainly more-so than my generation. Hope is powerful, & I have hope for our future if we can survive this moment.

I agree with you. This upcoming generation is so different than any other. I speak to younger people every chance I get and they’re bright, curious, and engaged, and more accepting than any generation before them. They also stop to listen and speak to a senior citizen and not act liked they’re bored to death. Good luck with the course on Hamilton. What a great idea!

Scaramucci is very watchable. I always click him. It's very interesting listening to someone who owns up to mistakes they've made. Not just his time with Trump but even during political debates he sometimes agrees the other person has made a better point than him.

AGREED! I could listen to j all day long. I believe he mentioned (elsewhere) that he got very good therapy that saved his marriage and recognize his ego & pride issues. He deserves ENORMOUS respect. Idk if he will Understand how he is 💯% he is forgiven and embraced by the vast majority of the world. He returned to the ethics with which he was raised & has, in turn, become an American treasure.

I I must admit I respect Mr scaramucci's vast intelligence and intellect and a humility about his blue collar background in context with his high academic and financial achievements. I hated drumpf, still do. In fact I have an anti Trump FB page with a lot of followers. And I often repost the latest bad news of the Trump family which is basically daily. I've yet to see bad news about Mr scaramucci and certainly not posted anything. I guess because he's not generating any bad news except his one week on TV said he used unlimited profanity. That was funny. But subsequently, he was humble and remorseful, and I really respected his sincerity. Someday I'd honored to meet him. Btw: I've met many celebs who are household names, a major world leader call me five times to offer me the job that was very interesting with a huge compensation package, amazing benefits, including that it came without diplomatic immunity. That's all I can say in this forum...

@@jdarst100 Brexit has always been one big lie- they used racism and bigotry to win. Not every Brexit voter is a racist- but every racist voted for Brexit. It is destroying the UK economy and relations with our closest neighbours in Europe. It is a divisive tool that is being used to keep the Tory party in power so that they can undo all the progress that has been made in this country. Boris Johnson is Trump but with brains. It’s because of these people that racism etc. has become a problem. Our death toll from Covid is at about 120,000 and our population is only 65 million- the rate is probably higher than yours. The media is about 90% right wing and is going further and further in that direction. We do not have the democratic processes that you have over there to control the government- they can basically do whatever they like. We have the worse economic impact from Covid in the G7. The same money is behind all the problems in the U.K and U.S.A- Koch, Mercer, Murdoch etc. here is an observation I have made: Thatcher came before Regan. Brexit came before Trump. Britain is the LEADER in stupidity. You only had Trump for four years we have had this same government for 10 years and at least 3 more and quite possibly even longer. Scotland will leave the U.K. soon, Britain as the world has known it will be destroyed.

Enlightening conversation to listen to; especially Anthony Scaramucci's comment that when the GOP vetoed Regan's Fairness Doctrine, which "led to Rush Limbaugh's rise" they developed a strategy that used gerrymandering. Trump's messages back in 2016 about his wall and immigration fit into these goals the GOP had back then.
