Such a delightful performance! Deep, boogie'n bow to Kimock, Son John, & Friends.

I love all the gentle chord vibrato work that Steve does... Feels like a vibrato pedal is on, but the touch of his approach is more delicate and emotive than just a pedal. 1 of 1000 things I dig about his playing...

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that about his playing either. It adds so much. I love it!

So I'm at a Zero show at Santa Cruz catalyst.... Kimock. Is tuning up and I'm standing with his speaker between me and him... I'm on a black Pyramid.. He looks into my eyes while hes tuning and I have a Huge smile on my face...huge! I hold up my copy of psychedelic guitar circus for him to sign... Hes looking right into my eyes and we both have huge grins.... She finishes tuning and puts his guitar down and signs my CD... then hands the CD to Bobby... Who hands it to judge Murphy... Judge Murphy says to me I don't think I was on this album but all sign it anyway and we both laughed yes I have the CD...:)

Yoooo, the black pyramids with the gold splattered or dripped over them slightly? If so I remember them clearly. Top notch doses lol.👍

I am not a big fan of Jeff with Dead and Co. (not that I think it sucks or anything) but here, he is pure magic. Some of the best work I have seen him perform.

This is lovely. I've not really dipped my toes into the pool of Kimock other than The Other Ones. Subtle and nice to hear Chimenti step out.

Seen (and more often, heard) Jeff Chimenti many times with GD bands - this is his real element. Impressive!

This is gloroius! Thank you to the Kimocs, Chimenti, and Mathis! This is what we need right now. Such thoughtful and deliberate notes played by all. I love seeing Steve always searching for his tone, changing things as his ear leads him on the journey. And the spontaneous smiles when things are cooking. More like this!

most excellent indeed - really love the "promised land" - and - yes - totally excellent from beginning to end - this is the stuff that helps make it all worth while - takes meh back to a forgotten place in a forgotten time - so many almost familiar melodies so delicately woven into this tapestry - makes meh think - "live it and love it - when & where & while you can - it doesn't come around verry often" . . .

Well I’m 23 minutes in and this is just OK. I think I enjoy him more when he’s jammin with my other favorite bands or covering Grateful Dead. It’s good playing but it’s just like a big noodle.

It's a big jazzy noodle 😂
@daksskier74162 жыл бұрын
If you think it’s a big noodle you aren’t hearing it. Most of Kimock’s music is very composed actually. Sure there is a ton of improv too but it’s all within a theme for every tune. I would be super surprised if someone like Jerry didn’t like what he does. He was open to all kinds of styles……he was also super sarcastic so that quote definitely could have been in jest. I mean, he did play with Kimock a bunch of times. He certainly had the choice of who to play with so he didn’t have to do that.
