My father was born in Heart's Delight and lived there until was he was 12. My grandparents moved the family to St. John's in the late 1950s, but kept the house in Heart's Delight as a summer residence. I spent many weekends there as a child. Your videos of my home province are fantastic.

Hearts Delight is such a beautiful name for a summer spot. I always thought Red Roses in Wales was the prettiest name for a village. In New Zealand we have Peep o Day … plus a whole lot of Maori place names that mean something very special.

I almost don't worry about what Steve/Alicja find as I know the video will be entertaining. Vlogging is as much about the people making the video as it is seeing sights. The funny place name Dildo reminded me of when I drove through Intercourse in Penns., USA.

No icebergs, but plenty of anticipation! Mother Nature can be so unpredictable, unfortunately. But you had a lovely drive through Dildo and the "Heart's Delight, Heart's Desire, and Heart's Content" trio! Unfortunately, you missed Shag Rock (yes, it's real!), located in Heart's Delight. And the little community of Spread Eagle, just across the tickle from Dildo. My goodness, we have a lot of suggestive place names in Trinity Bay! 😂😂😂 Glad you spotted the Tunnock's Caramel Log Bars, Snowballs and Tea Cakes. They're imported by British Confectionery Ltd. in St. John's and are hugely popular treats in Newfoundland! That surprises a lot of Scottish visitors! Thanks for another lovely video. Cheers!

2 Scottish people showing a Newfoundlander more of Newfoundland than I had seen while living there. Jimmy Kimble had been given honorary mayor of Dildo a few years ago. 😂😂😂 He had a few running segments about it, I believe they are still located somewhere on KZbin. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

I live in Brigus which is about a 10 or 15 minute drive from Bay Roberts. There is a spot in Bay Roberts called Mad Rock its right down in the east end of Bay Roberts and it would of bought you right out to the point and you would of seen it then. It was out in the harbour cause i seen it at the time you all were here. As well about the SS Kyle there is a famous resitation called the Smoke room on the Kyle if you ever want to look it up and read it. My father worked on that boat back in the day and it use to take people and supplies back and forth to the Labrador Coast. If you ever get back to Newfoundland you should come visit Brigus. We are a great little town with lots of history and great little eaterys. you had mentioned in a previous video about Seeweed Gin and if you drove through Clarkes Beach you would of drove past the Distillery that makes it ! hope this bit of information was helpful ! I hope you enjoyed your visit.

You're delightful, both of you. The postage jumpers in the previous video have a story to them: When the NL government became insolvent in the 1930s and the British took direct control, they discontinued 2 colour (red and black, plus white). NL was allowed only one colour stamps (red and white or black and white). Newfoundland ers have not forgotten the insult.

It was a very scenic drive, and made me think how charming some of these coastal villages are.

Based ourselves in Tuktoyaktuk, Inuvik and Dawson City. Canada is a tremendous country. However, I'm both very happy and very sad to be back in Scotland, West Calder to be precise. As for magnificent place names like Dildo, we had Bowel, Miniwanka, Shaganapi and 'Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump'. Happily, we also had local places like Airdrie and Carstairs. Keep up the good work and have a safe journey home. Saor Alba. 🙂
