I wish all celebrities were like Steve Martin and kept their views about "GOD" and "POLITICS" out of the media. I like him more now knowing he doesn't try to influence his fans with his views like MANY of the actor/comedians of today.

How can one study the creation (as it used to be called) animals, people, & not think an intelligent source created all, w patterns in everything (some tiny, some BIG) & not see there is much there, including humor. If only we all had to read G.K. Chesterton. There is a page of quotes, of his, like "Don't ever take a fence down until you know the reason it was put up," and others of note.

I think it is good to ask these questions. I think about my faith (hence my name...the Prophetess Anna was one of the first to recognize Jesus as the Christ child) but wouldn't have thought of asking "Hollywood" these on the spot Qs. Many reporters ask as personal things...it's good to see what's "true" on their faces,huh?

Not when it's a 5-second sound bite. It's a little rude to throw "How do you practice your spirituality?" at a celebrity on the street. The question comes off as surfacey and insincere.

Or maybe because they don't need to display their relationship to God. If someone asked me just how I keep my relationship with my husband, I wouldn't answer them either. Not because I am ashamed, but because IT IS PRIVATE.

Spelling correction: it's "god," not "God"...unless you're beginning a sentence. By the way, you should read these authors: Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, and Daniel Dennett. I think you'll find them enlightening.

Hollywood is a business. He's not going to answer because Baptists boycott. Leap of faith wasn't mocking the religion as it had a catharsis at the end of the movie. No offense, but the real televangelists do more to mock the religion than he supposedly did. Steve Martin is an outstanding physical comedian and I don't need to know who he speaks to when the lights go out.

I think God has erned a capital at anytime. I know all about the Atheists you mentioned and have read some of their books, although Dawkins has admitted in an interview that their is a creator! You should check out a book called "The Case For A Creator" written by a former Atheist LEE STROBLE

What's rude is YOU telling her what question she can or can't ask. Asking the question "what does God mean to you" isn't rude, he's a big boy if he doesn't believe he can say so. You just have a "rude" attitude about God.

LOL, thats not a spelling correction, it's trolling! That makes it more difficult for us atheists to enter into a real discusion (it's hard enough as it is!). In the english language it's perfectly acceptable to use god as a pronoun and spell it "God". Even imaginary friends can have capitalized names! I did notice that he capitalized "Atheist" now that would be a valid spelling correction. LMAO :)

God? Which god? There are about 3,000 gods invented in every culture throughout history. The Amazon rain god is as real to Amazon tribes as Jesus is to Catholics and Krishna is to some Hindus. We are all born atheists - it's our default position at birth until being indoctrinated with ancient superstitions written by iron-age men. We're all atheist to most gods - I just happen to believe in one god less than "Christians" do - which means I believe in none as there is no proof nor evidence.
