I remember seeing these guys at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin about 1994. This was their last song before the 20 minute intermission break. Everyone went to the bathroom to piss then. We were pissing in the sink, (some were 2 at a time) we were all singing this song while pissing in the sinks. It was the best moment of my life.

The crowd singing along. Now THIS is what Rock & Roll is all about. Shows like this generate positive energy which this world badly needs.

hell yeah this is what the real music sounds like, I agree this is the energy that this world needs today, it got lost through out the years. The sad thing is, we may not ever get it back

I still sing along...thanks for the observation ... I can't stop myself at live shows. I saw him at the PNE Vancouver Aug. 24th 2016. Really hope I can catch another concert from him!

Steve Miller is an American Classic........a perfect recording artist and song writer . He is as important in music as any "Guitar God" and has more poetic sense then most musicians.....thats why his self titled music is always around. Thankyou Steve.

Btw, the first performer to sell out Giants Stadium in New Jersey in 1977, NOT Bruce Springsteen, it was the great Stevie "Guitar" Miller! 80,000 people!!

When I was in college (somewhere in New York State), it seemed like everybody owned a copy of Steve Miller's Greatest Hits 1974-78 CD! Recently I went back to visit my old school, and made sure to bring my CD with me. Listening to classic tunes such as "Swingtown" as I explored the campus brought back so many memories.

Pre cell phones. Makes a huge difference. The crowd is much more involved, paying attention to only one thing - the music.

I used to play in a covers band in the 70's, & this one of our favourite songs, & the audience ALWAYS loved it! We played US Navy bases in the Med around 1979. One of the best times of my life! Hot hot weather and biologically accommodating, young fit women! How bad was that? (Also, my band was pretty good, too)

did you know that chris mccarty wrote this song as well as seranade of the stars. chris mccarty wrote many hit songs for steve. steve pays him royalities but sure gets the audience's credit for sure. chris's brother steve mccarty wrote wild mountain honey which is also a great song.

@crickettttt well maybe not the recognition but he sure made a truck load of money. my high school buddies wrote most of steve's hits and they are enjoying the money as well. but most people think steve miller wrote this songs as well as others..oh well elvis never wrote one song in his life..go figure..but they who wrote the songs could not make the song famous like steve could for sure. the man just has the golden touch
