Last participation from Steve Perry on the keynote panel conference on how producers and writters cope with life's losses and grief on April 11th, 2019 at MoPop in Seattle, Wa during Pop Con 2019.
Steve shares with the audience his inner most thoughts and experiences thru loss and grief during his lifetime, being the theme of the event about music, loss and grief.
These videos are not edited and might include other keynote speakers I don't necessarily agree with or know.
There's a previous video, here's the link:

BY FAR, THE GREATEST singer of our generation. It can't be argued. Where was Journey before Steve? Where is Journey without Steve? Granted, he was not an "original" member, but Steve Perry IS Journey and Journey IS Steve Perry. Get over yourself Neal Schon. Swallow your pride and get back with Steve where Journey belongs!!! This man is a genius.

As a true Steve Perry fan for many, many years, I have never heard him being so forthcoming about what he has experienced. When I listened to his new music I felt like something was missing, but after hearing him talk here, I realize that the only thing missing was my understanding.

Steve is so freaking deep! I love him and his soul so much! As he's aged and gone through so much in the past, he's finally able to open up to his fans, and wear his heart on his sleeve. We know him now, in a way we never knew him before. He's always been a private guy. I could listen to him talk for hours. We get to know him now, as a soul, a human being with feelings, and a person that has gone through pain himself. Just like every human. I love getting to know the man he is today. I'll love him forever ❤. He is the reason I started singing rock at age 10. I credit him for teaching me the vibrato technique at a young age. Riding around on my bike with my red cassete player hanging from my handlebars, as a lonely kid that came from an abusive, broken home, singing along with Journey. I'll forever be thankful to Steve for being there for me as a kid when no one else was. If I never get to meet him here on earth, I hope to meet him in the next life. ❤ I'd love to sing with him. 🥰

What this man has given me throughout my life cannot be expressed with mere words. Steve is nothing more than an ongoing work-in-progress just like everyone who's ever been born and who will be born. As he said, he's stumbled and fell like the rest of us and has also accumulated wisdom as a result. We learn what is important and what to let go that bogs us down. The sad fact is most of us live far too often within the confine of thought which keeps us from experiencing each moment as it happens. Be present, friends, it's all we really have. Thank you, Steve for making life more precious.

In our lifetime, we all have to deal with loss, pain, grief, hurtful memories and even guilt and regrets. We all live with the shadows of beings who are not there anymore but go on living in our hearts, in our memories, good and bad, and took a part in who we are. I had a difficult relationship with my father myself and now he's long gone. But the fact is that I'm made of my dad, so I feel completely what Mr. Perry explains about his.

Read some article, about the top 100 male singer's, that had Steven rated at #87. Not sure if they used Judges, or if they had a poll, but I can't think of anyone with Steven's range, who could sound better, when they were in concert, than they did in the studio. So I believe they've made a huge mistake! They must have used the same people, who kept Journey out of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, all those years! Am I wrong?

THANKS FOR SHAREING THIS VIDEO WITH ME. I HAD SIMILAR RELATIONSHIP WITH MY DAD LIKE YOU HAD WITH YOUR DAD STEVIE. IT KINDA HURTS TO SAY THAT MY MOM DID NOT ALWAYS GET MY DAD'S TOTAL RESPECT. WHEN I WAS GROWING UP I TOLD MYSELF I WOULD NEVER GET MARRIED CAUSE IT MADE ME SCARED OF A BAD MARRIAGE. AFTER I DID GET MARRIED THEN IT DID END IN DIVORCE AND DIVORCE I LEARNED IS WHAT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE TO GO THROUGH. WHEN I MARRIED HIM I THOUGHT I COULD CHANGE HIM BUT I LEARNED I WAS WRONG TO THINK I COULD. HE WAS AROUND 10 YEARS OLDER THAN ME AND STRONG IN HIS WAYS TO KEEP ME AT A DISTANCE INSTEAD OF A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP. WE WAS CLOSE FOR FIRST YEARS BUT HE WOULD NOT TALK TO ME WHEN MARRIAGE STARTED A TURN AROUND SO IT MADE ME FEEL LIKE A SINGLE PERSON EVEN THOU I DID NOT RUN AROUND ON HIM. SO I FELT I HAD TO FIND OUT THROUGH A RESPECTED GROUP OF FOLKS & WAS TOLD I SHOULD GET A DIVORCE. I SHOULD OF NEVER MARRIED HIM TILL I WAS SURE HE LOVED ME FOR REAL. KINDA HURTS TO ADMIT THAT I DONT THINK HE LOVED ME TILL AFTER WE GOT DIVORCE AND I DISTANCED MYSELF FROM HIM. I THINK PEOPLE ARE SO SMART THAT WAITS A LONG TIME BEFORE THEY GET MARRIED SINCE ITS NOT SIMPLE TO JUST GET A DIVORCE WHEN PERSONS GROW APART FROM EACH OTHER. LOVE, KGM

He is an absolute perfectionist and has said in past interviews...that he is never completely happy with any song he has ever sang. He always thinks he could of done it better. That is why his music/vocals are do doggone great!!
