By making it more pink than red so the next time they eat bologna they can cry about it/be a triumphant predator? I dunno, it feels worse to me when they do this. Like Goldeneye on the N64, having actual guns just leave little pink welts on the enemies you kill.

@@girlbuu9403 I think it's better to tell them how it really is, instead of sweet lies. They will find out truth on their own, in era of the internet rather sooner than later, and depending on found source, might be shocking or even traumatic. About golden eye - i don't think they meant that game to be played by children, they did it to keep PG rating as low as possible, because Nintendo ordered so. Nintendo didn't want to be associated with gory games, because their main target group were kids. It was just a business/PR move.

I remember watching this when I was a wee little lad. It's beautiful. I wished I could have watched it the first time again, the movie main lesson is no matter what you are with great care you can be a good person. Like heart, being a meat eater raised by plant eaters (for the most part) he became quite the good person. At the end of the movie there are hints that the main antagonist is his real dad which is a twist that blew my underdeveloped kid brain at the time.

Yeah, that "you smell like a puff of sand" lyric should be "The sandstorm carries your scent to me." In fact, the entire song should be The sandstorm carries your scent to me I ignore it and turn away The seething heat will bring a storm and eventually, wash it all away... Jumpkick! Tail smash! With all my might... Headbutt! Heartbeat! Boom! For now, I just have to run faster than anyone and catch my breath once I've come far enough! The broken skulls that hit the ground Will be reduced to sand some day... I won't think about the past, or you... For now, I just have to run and run... Jumpkick! Tail smash! As long as I live... Headbutt! Heartbeat! Boom! I just have to rush forward like lightning, never looking back or thinking of the unknown future! I feel the red sunlight soak into my skin... Into the scars that never heals For now, I just have to run across the baked earth And once I made it through, I'll live there forever! The sandstorm carries your scent to me I ignore it and turn away The seething heat will bring a storm and eventually, wash it all away... Jumpkick! Tail smash! With all my might... Headbutt! Heartbeat! Boom! For now, I just have to run faster than anyone and catch my breath once I've come far enough!

8:46 I feel like this is a “Pigs vs Guinea Pigs” situation and these are Giganotosaurus. I think tv tropes may have said so. Also, from the wrinkles on the carcass and Heart kicking the Elder Sauropod at the end, to me it seemed like it was the elder he was eating.

Was watching your samurai jack vid and was very surprised you didn't mention Genndy Tartakovsky's much more recent work like "Primal". It's without a doubt his best work visually and animation wise that is, every shot is absolutely stunning, but it's another case of him starting off incredibly strong and a wtf ending out of nowhere. You should really check it out honestly it would probably be right up your ally, it's rated mature (due to the excessive gore). It tells the tail of a caveman and a dinosaur forming an alliance. Unicorn warriors eternal is also another of his even more recent works with a similar vibe and.. once again, it starts out strong but ends terribly lol. So yeah dude has a serious issue writing endings.

I’ve recently been thinking about an old film I watched as a kid. It was called “The Polar Cubs: A North Pole Adventure” (though I think it’s sometimes called “Adventures of the Polar Cubs) I think my parents got it because they thought it was “Lars the Little Polar Bear” but it’s actually a 1979 anime. It has some dark moments and has a similar tone to this. Maybe this would be a good film to look at?

Fruit is a little different. Most carnivores will eat berries and apples and melons. It is feeding them leafy greens that is the big issue, they only really eat grass when sick. Of course, I am thinking carnivorous mammals like dogs and cats (PS don't feed them grapes) who will eat these kind of things, and an all fruit diet probably still isn't very good for them.
@tenyokensekia8088Ай бұрын
Oh! Sorry for the double comment, but in regards to one of your points, (A lot of which I actually agree with by the way, just because you love something doesn't mean you shouldn't be critical about it) In regards to the Saurapod that Heart hunted, I was under the impression he was eating the elder, since he was the oldest anyway. Besides, from a expending energy point of view, it would be a waste for him to eat one of the babies. I'm pretty sure he just wanted them all in one place so he can pick the one he wanted to eat the most. Which also makes sense since as we learn shortly thereafter, he is basically poaching from the pack, which means you'd want to get the most bang for your buck with that risk anyway.

The two plots aren't disconnected. Heart finding and raising Umasou is supposed to be a parallel of his own mother raising him despite the fact that one of them eats plants and the other meat, and several times throughout the movie, it questions the idea of an herbivore and carnivore living together. The final message might not have been worded well, but I think the idea was that a herd of defenseless hadrosaurs being used to living with a Rex would put them in danger of losing their fear of them. Umasou is only one and is at least well armored and capable of defending himself. Also, Umasou _has_ grown significantly in the third act. Before, he was tiny, small enough for Heart to carry in his hands, but by the end, he's almost the size of his head. On a side note, I like the unique character detail of Heart's fighting style; unlike the other Rexes, his jaws aren't his only method of attack. Also, is nobody going to bring up the fact that Umasou is uniquely fully able to speak after having just hatched yet apparently doesn't know this one word, or that he's able to climb up Heart like Spiderman?

14:42 This reminds me of a Webtoon series, "The Devils Demons" by artist named Therbis; where after a meteor shower kills herds and packs of dinos in a valley and 2 orphaned young herbies find another young orphaned carnivore and they grew up together. I won't spoil much but eventually they made it work cuz the carnivore just targets small predators (like raptors) that goes after his "siblings"...and he can also eat fish. They're family. The herbies know he has to eat and while they're grossed out a bit, they just accept it in a way like, "he has to eat" (of course there'd be conflict tho when new herds arrive and find that little strange family)

Just one detail you got wrong... Heart doesen't eat any children in the movie. He eats the fully grown and old if he can. When he atacks the Sauropod herd he ends up eating one of the old ones who was defending the herd. In dact it is a very coold detail that he defeats him by kicking him in the head when he is up on his hind legs, meaning that was one mighty jump to reach that high, and one hard kick, and we are told that he trains his legs more than anything; but also it is a nice detail that some sauropods where animals so big that they could die from the impact if they fall down. That's how he kills the old sauropod.

5:55 Heart actually killed the herd elder of the sorapods, not the children. I remember watching this movie a couple times. The editing of the scene showed him landing a kick in the face to the elder causing him to fall like a tree (and probably broke his neck on the ground) then jumpcut to the rest of the herd leaving with their unharmed children as Heart feasts on a clearly adult sized sorapod carcass. The animators even colored the sorapod elder a slightly darker pink than the rest of the herd and it matches the same pink as the carcass. Hope it makes you feel a little bit better about the scene. Heart got to eat, the children didn't die and the elder protected the herd through his death.

The one thing that is certain to happen to paleontology and which is just catching on, is that so many 'species' of dinosaur are just the female of the same species. But nobody wants to step on that landmine and erase the legacy before it. Like when they finally relented and admitted that many species were, in fact, just juveniles of the same species. It's going to be interesting. [Tricer]atops will probably be first.
