I remember Steve when he was building this theater about 10 years ago if I remember correctly. He used to upload pictures to forums . I still have all of them saved on my old laptop. He definitely was an inspiration in my teens 😂.

I remember going to see films at the Cineplex in the 90s and they had just over 20 foot wide screens. This is close to that! Wow! Impressive!

Seems like everyone has JTR speakers....I have to hear them one-day.

They are pretty great.
@Linkone75 күн бұрын
How would you say they compare to Arendals?
@hatoraidcowboy5 күн бұрын
@Linkone7 There’s more lowend but JTR speakers are bigger with bigger drivers. Kind of hard to compare. They both sound great though

I have a 120”… that I setup outside. I tried for over a year to fit a 120” in my basement but it just doesn’t fit. Ended up going back to 100” (non-AT) so that I would have room for speakers and gear. Might end up eventually going to a large flat panel.

Ever try a Barco?
@stevefrederick40193 күн бұрын
I have not tried a Barco. I hope to not have to try any other projectors for 10+ more years :)

So on the walls he only has the silent source fabric direct on the wall and no real adsorbers like Basotec or rock wool?
@stevefrederick40194 күн бұрын
Rockwood yes, but it is behind the drywall. I do have reflection panels in the front. Dirac really helps a lot to dial in your room.

It could be really enhanced with a MadVR Envy Extreme or the new Lumagen Artisan coming in 2025.
@hatoraidcowboy5 күн бұрын
I would love to see a MadvR on that Christie

Do you worry about shortening your projector's bulb life by playing video games?
@stevefrederick40195 күн бұрын
It is laser. No bulbs and about 30,000+ hours of life
@joshuawarren-davis39575 күн бұрын
No MadVR or Lumagen processor?

Yes I do have MadVR thru the PC

Mentioning about 8K, that won’t happen for the consumer. This is what’s on the internet As of February 2024, there's no evidence that 8K Blu-ray discs will ever be developed. In 2019, Chris Chinnock, the executive director of the 8K Association, said that the chances of physical 8K discs were "a low probability". Some reasons for this include: Lackluster sales of 8K TVs Disinterest from Blu-ray manufacturers No player designed to handle these discs Expensive enthusiast options 4K looks set to be the standard for the foreseeable future Back in 2019, executive director of the 8K Association, Chris Chinnock, cast doubt on the possibility of 8K Blu-rays ever happening. He said there was "a low probability" that physical 8K discs would be developed, and that was four years ago; not much has changed since then.27 Feb 2024 8K blurays will never arrive for one very good reason. There is not enough space on a bluray disk for an 8K movie. An ultra HD disk holds about 66GB of data.11 Sept 2023

Good to see someone using microfiber seats. So much leather out there. Its hot and uncomfortable. The comfortable ones are way too expensive.

😤 I don't like this guy. I'm a cinephile. I'm an aspiring filmmaker. I should have this entire setup 🤬🤬🤬 We should support the movie-going experience.
