Episode suggestion -- I would like to know how the FieldTurf rubber pellets are sanitized. You can throw in all the other field prep issues, including the heating systems for northern latitude fields.

Also ask -- why does the FOX Cleatus robot's shoes have no cleats? And compare play on contemporary FieldTurf to classic astroturf, and selection of cleats. Ask players of different positions whether they prefer grass or artificial turf. Ask trainers if leg injuries would be reduced if the league imposed a cleat size and shape limitation, for use on artificial turf, to reduce traction.

FieldTurf offers a sanitizing program so I would think NFL teams would do this. NFL films did two different episodes that included the evolution of shoes. One long episode on uniforms changing and one other one.

There is an episode on the equipment managers job but doesn’t go in depth about cleats. What is interesting to me is that they will track the field conditions at stadiums with grass fields to select the optimal cleat. Even more interesting is if it starts to rain they will change cleat heights at halftime with an electric stud driver. But if they are playing on Astro turf and it rains they have to change their show. A lot of athletes have taped ankles so you have to retape too.
