PART 2: '2005 my neck fell apart & impinged my spinal chord. I lost the entire use of my left hand. 6 surgeries later hand works 60%, but I'm bedridden most of the time. I had the priviledge of meeting Steve & told him I couldn't record anymore. He IMMEDIATELY stopped me mid-sentence & said "Yes you CAN. You just have to figure out HOW to do it differently!" Paradigm shifting anecdote! I DID record again. :) Steve is SO gracious & kind & giving of his time: a Master of guitar & life!

PART 1: I started playing guitar in '77 (at age 7). I've been listening to Zappa since '82. Several years later, a friend of mine lent me Steve's Sound Page from GP of BLUE POWDER and that was the 1st time music actually blew my mind, literally. Everything around me disappeared: time, the noise of NYC streets, thoughts: it was just me and the music. Since then Mr. Vai has been my favorite composer and guitarist. And talk about anecdotes! In 1997 I was hit by a car. (con't...)
