I stood right in front of Steve once who blew me away. I screamed like a 13 yr old the whole show. He was so nice and all his Band was so nice to all of us. Great times!!

By the time I picked up a guitar Steve was well established but I had a friend who played to the entire Eat em and smile record one day. Thats was his thing so I never bothered but It was an impressive thing to watch.

Awesome stories Steve,,,My freind Blues Saraceno open up for you in LA. you gave Blues a set of dimarzio (3pink single coil pickups.) When he came back to Connecticut he gave them to me. I think there from the jem guitar ? ,At the time Blues had his Trembucker pickups that came out, thats why he gave them to me, But they sound cool. THANKS MR.VAI. ❤IT. - RJ.

Every other musician story is about how labels or managers stole everything. Steve was smart, and talented.

sounds like Zappa was like Bootcamp for Steve anything after that would be a lot easier to get it down and remember especially bc the music was less complicated and the set list were probably a lot more stable. I think I heard he had like 1 week to learn the Alcatraz set replacing Malmsteen. Adrian Belew wasn't in Zappa to long Lol . I remember seeing Zappa around 1980 at the Palladium In NYC Halloween night ,I think it was Steve I barely knew who he was but that was an insane show I was like 17 yrs old. then I saw 2 tours with David lee Roth , then numerous solo shows including Generation Axe . I went to his Passion and warfare record release party at a venue Named china club located upper west side NYC it wasn't that large so we got to meet him and hang out ,that was a treat, I'm glad he's still thriving and enjoying long term success!

Playing with Zappa would have been a pressure cocker. Vai , Zappaz protege 🤘The Mozart of his time and a true legend. If you haven't listened to Zappa and be amazed, you dont know s÷×+. May he be jamming with Jimi 🙏. When Flexible came out it blew me away, echoes of Zappa with a crazy Metal tinge. ✌️🤘💛🏴🇦🇺
