the people who say that think that soul is repetitive pentatonic playing only with some blues notes inbetween. thats just wrong imo cuz when you watch vai, satch or even vh perform you see they put their soul into every note they play.

this really shows how great of a musician vai is. here is a fantastic, and one of the most respected musicians of all time, if he wanted to he could get up on that stage and completely show up and out shine nelly, but he doesn't he goes up and elevates this pop star chicks game, and they play a beautiful piece of music. phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal

great job of steve vai :) i don't really get, why you're wondering about nelly being infront of steve. the singer is nearly always infront of the others (and i think vai wouldn't play with her, if he didn't like her music) don't get me wrong, steve vai is my favourite musican, but i'm wondering about the missing guitar solo at the end. i don't think that it's needed. look at his great work. isn't it awesome enough? nelly is really lucky to have steve vai playing the rythms for her. he's awesome.

cavlovc1 probably because he’s one of the greatest guitarists to ever live. He can gig with anybody he wants... any vocal artist in the business today would be honored to play with him. Not saying they “should;” I’m saying they “would” be honored... this performance is pretty bad, but look up his other stuff. I’m not exaggerating when I say he’s one of the best. He’s an idol to most guitarists today.
