The reason Vai didn't join Ozzy was he wanted $2M to play on the album and Ozzy turned that amount down! I 100% recall this from an article in a Magazine as well as an interview with Ozzy. Steve even admitted, around that time, that he asked for WAY too much to play with Ozzy! It was similar to why the Vai band broke up. Steve said he let his ego and controlling nature get the best of him. That's not to say Steve has a controlling attitude it's just he had "visions" of how things should happen and he was too demanding in that era!

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree with Shazza. That said, her renown was legendary in the industry, artists by the 90s, shouldn't have been walking in blind to a business relationship involving Ozzy Inc LLC. Vai should put in his will the release of the tapes, which sound like they have would Ozzy vocals on them. Be an interesting historical artifact from a time when metal wasn't sure what to do with itself.

Yes but Vai himself said that he wrote it and a bit later Zakk re-recorded it in the studio for the album.

Why does Bob keep going back to Ozzy, they can't be friends, and the most iconic Albums that he wrote with Randy have been usurped and credit taken by Ozzy. When Zakk joined Ozzy, he was too young: about 18 years old. In an interview, Zakk once confessed that he made more money with Ozzy than when he was pumping gas. So I think Zakk got paid some money for playing guitar on the album but I don't think he got publishing.

Yes I agree. However Steve Vai and Joe Satriani played awesome solo on Alice Cooper's song 'Feed My Frankenstein'. So if Steve had done the same with Ozzy, that would've been an awesome record! Anyway, I loved the track 'My Little Man'.

My opinion is that Ozzy tells Sharon to make up some excuse to tell Steve vai or whoever else that he doesn't like anymore to get rid of them. Therefore Sharon gets blamed for everything, but realistically Sharon is Ozzy's wife, so whatever she does is whatever Ozzy wants to happen, he's the husband, he's the star Sharon is just his wife and basically his go between.
