Thank you so much, I always wanted to learn and play complex taps and sweeps like the ones you're explaining, but never really knew where to find them.

Thats more Reb Beach than Steve Vai would i say
@anthonyfinch5504 жыл бұрын
Idk. It’s very similar to big trouble from eat em and smile. Vai might have spent some time with reb in the early days lo.

I kinda dig these tapping lessons without string dampeners
@ROTTERtube9 жыл бұрын
Kenny Ken hate string dampers...never used them. i see them as a handicap. good to learn without them.

Great stuff. Just an observation: Your "strict" about keeping the thumb on the back of the neck with some room and space between the hand and neck, which is how they teach classical guitar. Ironically, your guitar sits on your right leg. A classical guitarist would sit the guitar on his left leg as do many shredders (I know, Paul Gilbert sits the guitar on his right as well but most...). I personally find it hard to sit the guitar on my right and had an epiphany many many years a go that changed my life as a player. Took some classical lessons and then took that advise to sit the guitar on my left leg while playing electric guitar and yikes! I was 10x the player I was before. Shredding, tapping, everything was easier. Even chording. Everything. Even standing up playing live, my guitar is now on my left side. I see the guitar better, I can reach all 24 frets easier, etc. OK< now my question: have you a reason for using the right leg rather than the left? Just curious-because your playing is flawless.

i can do it now but i can't even do it at half of your speed xD
@5urg3x8 жыл бұрын
Keep practicing...These kinds of tapping licks are pretty standard where you just follow the scale up and down and then only add in the right hand on one note up a few frets, then switch strings. Once your hand gets strong enough to play this even at 60% speed or so then you will be able to do a lot of other things as well (like alternate pick super fast these same scale runs) -- one piece of advice -- stretch your fingers out before playing -- it will help you develop the strength. There's a great vid "hand stretches guitar warmups" on here -- check that out to learn how to do the exercises and make sure to do both hands :) Hope something I said helps...
