Wow that was a quite amazing video pal loved it, i cycled this route many years ago right into Kendal and it was surreal to see the old bridges in the middle of the fields, it was bloody hard work the last 5 miles into Kendal but your video has inspired me to do it from Preston to Lancaster before the end of August.

Took a while to travel and record and edit so I'm glad I've inspired you to get on your bike. I've travelled the canal from Lancaster to tewitfield a could of times.

Excellent video again, if a little sad to see the cut off sections. Great to see some restoration. Great work by the workers. I think the road builders should be responsible for restoring access for the canal again. Thanks for the tour.

Glad you liked it. Yeah good idea. They could have made tunnels really. They did all sorts like that when making the Bay gateway. Didn't cut off the canal then. Just made a bridge

Fabulous footage and such beautiful scenery, just wish I could be there! Nothing to compare with what you have there to my location in Montgomery, AL USA. Thank you for this video!

I'm sure you have some great stuff to record there to. Thanks buddy

Excellent footage, Such a shame they cut it off at Tewitfield like that, why couldn't they of gone over it instead of through it?Be nice if they could restore a large portion of it and somehow reconnect it.

Yeah it must be a cost thing. Sad though
@Grandmavicky1105 жыл бұрын
I hope the canal trust manages to re-open it's lost parts. The Falkirk Wheel was built with lottery money. So short sighted of the engineers to go for the cheaper option when putting in the M6

Thanks but it can stay there. It will take over 3 hours to fix and then upload again. I'll live with that but thanks for that. I usually have a few typos lol.

The Kendal end would be difficult due to road crossings and development at the old Canal Head area . It’s a good off road cycle route from Carnforth to Kendal and back !
@davidsworld58373 жыл бұрын
its some times hard to know location and what's there that just needs a repair, what need rebuilding, a map would be nice to see what is or is not there. how do we get all the canal to be one connection to every were the old canal use to go
@tonyobrien25875 жыл бұрын
Worth waiting for. Presumably, the bridges, say, at 9m 50s into the video, still have the walls and towpath but below the ground as we see it? Have you shot the section of the canal through Bolton-le Sands?
@skycamvideo5 жыл бұрын
I've no idea if the walls are there but covered but should imagine it's easier so probably. I've not recorded from Lune viaduct as far as Carnforth. Although I recorded near the Canal turn once. Sorry

Not a chance it will ever be restored to Kendal.

Pity the M6 planners did not take this into consideration, unless they did not believe the canal would reopen at some time.?

Very nice video, all the clips were short and sweat which is perfect, only gripe I have with the video is it's a little long at 11 minutes, I would keep it down to 5 to 6 minutes if you can. Thanks for joining my channel I have done the same.

Yeah my longest video. But no way could this be made shorter and still show all the details I needed to. Thanks for your comment. And sub
