Love the video, I too had alot of lag, particularly in watercolours, but since the 5.0.4 update it is now working really well🤩. I love Rebelle as I have never been able to get into digital art, but Rebelle with a stylus feels just like I am actually painting, and now the proper watercolour names and colour mixing it is just brilliant for me, but sadly I am no artist I just enjoy it. I hope you do more Rebelle 5 videos please, I learn so much.

Lag has been a big issue for me and I’ve been reluctant to upgrade for that reason.

@@Steve.Dennis I have a Surface Pro 5 and I thought I needed a new computer when I first upgraded to Rebelle 5, but with this new software update 5.0.4 it is working brilliantly, no lag at all apart from on the biggest brushes. In fact it is working better than Rebelle 4 did on this computer🤩

Thanks for the demo. I found quite a lot of more lag on the latest release 5.0.3.

Hi Mark, 5.0.4 seems to resolve the lag issue

I was sitting here wondering “Where’s the Wednesday upload from Steve?” I’m watching this on my lunch break and then I can get on with my day. I’m glad you chose this subject! I do get lag with Rebelle 5 because my laptop is right on the cusp of enough power. Using a small canvas like an A4 helps some. [updated comment] I hadn’t tried 5.0.3. I was still on 5.0.1. I updated R5 to 5.0.3. And I can confirm what you and the others posting here have said. There is a LOT more lag than there was. It’s really difficult unless you stick with short slow strokes. 🙁

Hi Paul, I’ve moved the time of releasing my videos from 10am to 6pm GMT. On the second point, I’m using version 5.0.6 and I have virtually no lag at all

This is so beautiful! Thanks for the tutorial. How do you add water to the mixing palette? Mine just mixes hard colors.

Yeah i have been having a ton of lag. Hope they can smooth it out soon.

Hi Steve, love the painting. I wonder why they don’t have a palette of, say, Windsor and Newton standard, traditional colours. Seems to me that would be highly desirable feature for a traditional artist transferring to digital? I recently contacted Rebelle support team about the lag problem - On my PC, version 5 pro is virtually unusable, though version 4 works perfectly - They tell me that they are working very hard to fix this issue and hope a fix will be available within a couple of weeks, or so. It’s a great program and great support team (in my experience) so I’m happy to wait for the fix.

Hi Peter, I’m guessing creating a Windsor and Newton pilot might raise licensing issues, perhaps that’s why they’ve not done it. On your second point the devs have now resolved the lag issue, which I’m sure you are aware of, as I’ve taken so long in replying to your comment, sorry about that

@@SteveElliottArt Hi Steve, I hadn’t considered licensing - you’re probably right. I’m now running Rebelle version 5.0.6 and it’s perfect. No lag issues at all. It was only a matter of days before the Devs released the fix. I have to say that the Rebelle support team have been fantastic- especially Veronika who kept me up to date with progress and even sent me trial a version before the official release date. It’s nice to think that someone really cares if you’re having problems with their products, and even nicer not to have your queries answered by a Robot.

Hope I'm not too late to the party with the lag issue, but I'm not 100% sure lag is the issue. Have you tried turning off Windows Ink? This could cause some issues when trying to use a digital screen and stylus.
