For this last year of the decade, here's what made #1 on the "other" charts as well as this lot: - "Chiquitita" by ABBA (New Musical Express) - "Oliver's Army" by Elvis Costello (New Musical Express, Melody Maker) - "In The Navy" by the Village People (New Musical Express) - "Pop Muzik" by M (New Musical Express, Melody Maker) - "Dance Away" by Roxy Music (New Musical Express, Melody Maker) - "Silly Games" by Janet Kay (New Musical Express, Melody Maker) - "The Eton Rifles" by The Jam (Melody Maker) "One Day At A Time," needless to say, failed to reach the top of Melody Maker's chart.
