The new Maxima is beautiful! I own a 2004 and this new one does not disappoint. However, I'm still going to see what Buick has planned for the next generation Regal. If they bring a 2.8tt V6 GS model, count me in!

I really Like the looks of this car. The interior feels really classy and high quality. Coming from BMW fan and owning one now this seems like a great car. The reliability of Japanese car and german feel like interior. can't go wrong.

massari4u I have a cousin who sold his 2013 BMW 328i and I sold my 2013 Lexus IS350. And we both bought Maxima. He bought SL and I bought SR and I am happy to report we are very satisfied and no regrets..

Dear Nissan, it's a swing but only a triple. You need to address a few things for the next model year for a home run. 1. More sound insulation, door seals. It's loud at high speeds. 2. 8 speed automatic. 3. Paddle shifters for all trims. It's supposed to be a four door sports car not just the SR version. 4. Power port and vent controls for the back seat. 5. LED lights all around. Not just low beam. Plus, LED headlights with lower yellow halogen fog lights just looks bad. 6. Would like to see a four wheel drive option. 7. A little more engine HP power and torque please. 8. Height adjustment for the passenger seat, it's a must! No wife, daughter, young son, or mother wants to ride in that low passenger seat and get car sick.

Few small things I don't like. 1. Can't turn off the auto braking. 2. Can't pause live radio. 3. Can't set doors to unlock when put in park. Only when car turns off.

if the platinum is the higher model it should have paddle shifter and premium wheels. those 18 inch are horrible for a top trim model. the platinum should have 19s. and also should have rear heated seats and ac controls. ALSO this car should have nice LED all around the car AND illuminated cup holders like ford lincoln and dodge does.
@VincentDale9 жыл бұрын
You mentioned it, the interior would win me over to buying this. But some other things would turn me off. For that price, I would like less road noise. But man, I would really like to feel the interior while mobile
@dcharizard919 жыл бұрын
If Nissan really wanted this to be a "4DSC," then they shouldn't have fitted it with a CVT. If they want to make it more luxurious, some basic luxuries like height adjustment for the passenger need to be included.

Thumbs down on the "love it or leave it" styling, and the price is noticeably higher than class leaders like the Toyota Avalon. Interior looks great. So far, market reception has been tepid.
@76carmel9 жыл бұрын
With the new Maxima, both the Chevy Impala and Toyota Avalon are on notice. Still, I think Impala and Avalon are the class leaders in full sized sedans.

+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes I would put Hyundai Genesis in a different class due to the fact that it's RWD based vehicle. I would put the Hyundai Azera and corporate cousin Kia Cadenza as its direct competition to the Maxima.

Great review man, i don't know who was the wise guy to say lets put a cvt in a sports sedan but that really messed up the maxima for me, my first car was an 02 maxima and i loved that car more than anything and to see the maxima now with how great it looks go down the route of a fuel saving cvt just made me too disappointed.
@grumjpy8 жыл бұрын
Anmol Ramchandani I own a 2017 Maxima SR. And I have 3 other 2016/17 Maxima's in my friends and family circle. If I tell you that this CVT is better than traditional transmission. Would you believe me? I guess no. Then go and drive one. Then maybe you will understand why this car is such a success...

I'm a fan of the Nissan/Infiniti brand, but this remodel is a big miss. I'm not sure what it is, but it just looks too bulky, and the curves do not strike me as attractive. I like the interior, though. The new Altima, while having a similar overall shape, is better looking in my opinion.
@blaze3761928 жыл бұрын
idk, irl the altima looks way cheaper in my opinion
@97I30T9 жыл бұрын
It seems like a nice car, but the 4DSC moniker is just laughable at this point. The 4th and 5th gen maximas were the last true 4DSCs. After that they got too big, and a CVT does not belong in a "sports car". The 5th gen maxima was also faster from 0-60 than this one is with the 3.5 and a 6-speed manual and that was over 10 years ago.

The current Maxima gets more "ugly" comments from auto critics and the public than any vehicle on the road today with the exception of the current Lexus design. I love the body lines and the interior. I just don't want to be seen driving that hideous grill in public.

+Carlos Choy I couldn't agree more, Carlos. And with the performance the Maxima has and the size, AWD would become essential to the core of the 4DSC moniker Nissan placed on its Maxima and if they could replace that CVT with an Infiniti 7-speed transmission then that car would have the presence of good looks and great performance.

I've found the 90's Maxima ugly, and after the transformation in early 2000, the Nissan Maxima gained popularity and praised for its chiseled looks and exhilarating performance since on out, especially after its then, again, redesign for 2004; and in 2009, and now for 2016, but again, my opinion is an expression.
