I got terminated one time from a temp position in 2014. Wife didn’t have a job at the time, 3 year old at the house. They let me go, my wife cried, and I told her “it’s ok, we are going to survive this.” Life is so good y’all. I completely turned that thing around, and God Almighty was with me the whole time. Be blessed.

In May 2008, I was told by my Supervisor that the big boss suggested I find another job, and the Supervisor said it with kind of a smirky smile on his face, expecting me to be all shocked and saddened, but I wasn't. I simply said "OK, I'll start looking." Two hours later I had a job interview. Three days later I had the job. My old job was a government contractor position. The new job was a Government Contractual Evaluator, directly over the contractor company that had just let me go. When they found out, the former big boss called my new Govt Boss and said; "Oh, you don't want him." to which my new Govt Boss replied, "Well, that's exactly why we hired him." I am still there today, July 2021, evaluating the same contract work. And the former big boss, and the Supervisor? Both were let go about a year later for inappropriate comments on the job, fired by their bosses. Two Morals of the story: Never give up, and Don't be a dick. :0)

I knew it was coming so it was no surprise. But immediately after he told me I went into my boss office and gave him my two weeks notice with his secretary as a witness. He said I can't give him a two weeks notice he was going to fire me at the end of the day. Well I told him it's still morning and here is my two weeks notice. It was perfect I got an extra 2 weeks pay even though I wasn't allowed at the office. I got paid to sit home for 2 weeks which was perfect because I was able to find a new job during that time. I was being severely harassed at work by my head of department for sometime, without being able to defend myself. All I could do was to ensure that I gave him no reason to pick on the quality of my work and so I became meticulously proficient at all aspects of my job. Still the harassment continued and my stress levels shot to the roof with direct consequences on my physical and mental health. I finally decided to use two weeks of my holidays entitlement just to look for another job. I started on Monday and by Wednesday, just two days later, I had an interview and was offered a Job in a Well known company that offered me a starting salary of twice as much as I was getting in my current job. Nedless to say that by Thursday I have handed over my notice, while still on leave, which gave me Much Pleasure. On my last day at work, when my hypocrit on a manader and the rest of the department gathered to make a fuss and give a present, I finished my job and unbeknownst to them I exited the building, leaving them all standing there waiting for me for a good half an hour or so until they finally realised that I had long gone. The best thing is that, the entire company got to know about it and they became the but of all jokes for a long time. I stayed in my new job for 16 good years, before cordially moving on to do even better.

The one time I got fired, I was actually mind blown… I was a deliver driver for an Italian restaurant, and I was the best driver by far. Delivered the most delivery’s, the fastest, at the end of the day I now only had the most delivered in the shortest amount of times made the most money for the restaurant. But there was this phone girl(the ones who hand the drivers the delivery) and she randomly just had an issue with me. They are suppose to hand out the deliveries I order, what driver was waiting next gets them. But she would literally skipped over me to give the biggest deliveries for the most money to one driver she liked, and would give me the bullshit ones, the farthest away, it was so obvious she was doing it on purpose: even the driver she favored(who was my boy) noticed it, all the drivers noticed it. So finally I told the managent. I normally don’t snitch, but you messing with my money, my livelihood. I told them twice, they never did anything. Then one day boss walks in, and in front of everyone goes “yea we won’t be needing you anymore” I was like “are you fucking kidding me? 1 month later they call me asking if I could come back, they fired the phone girl because of all the complaints… I told them to eat a bag of dicks

Yea that kind of shit I hate. I've had a job where it was a contract and they decided to end it without notice (which is legal as long as you pay in lieu of working notice) anyways I drive 30+ minutes, park in the parking garage (thankfully they paid for that as a perk of being employed there) go in and sit down. Start work and take my first call of the day. As soon as I'm done that I'm taken into a back office and terminated. The only thing I will say is that they paid me in lieu of notice and let me at least go get my car then return the parking pass but Jesus you could have phoned me that morning so I didn't waste an hour total driving there and back.

Willie is the reason most offices have security waiting nearby when they get fired to escort them out the building.
@1eDITORcHRIS3 жыл бұрын
Bruh I hate the security thing though because they are not consistently thorough about the fact that you're permanently parting ways - they only care about getting their equipment back if anything but not about ensuring you don't leave anything behind of yours. When I had to get terminated from a position, by the time we walked from the manager's office in the back of the basement and made it all the way out the front door of the building, I realized I'd still left my lunch in the staff refrigerator which was also back down in the basement. They let me go just before it was about to be my lunch break. I still think about that philly cheesesteak to this day, especially because I'd legitimately gotten it from Philly and I was in NY. After that day, it made sense to me why I noticed the staff fridge had accumulated so many unclaimed food items over time that were simply holding up space. It was obviously all meals belonging to people who'd been let go before being able to finally eat that day. I usually don't even get comfortable enough anywhere for it to be possible that anything is left behind - I never get a permanent locker and always try to keep all personal belongings on my person at all times wherever I go in life - but I'd been at this job for over a year and its unique circumstances were such that it was better to bring your own food from home and keep it in their refrigerator than to try to find something to eat when you're already there.

@@masterenos yeah, humor has no limits. It is to make you laugh, not to be respectable. That’s what people don’t understand, the fact that you can make a joke out of a dark topic and make someone laugh shows that it is still humor.

People always need to remember this one fact; Comedians get most of their content from real life experiences. Watch this as a comedy once, then watch it a second time listening to the story without laughing. It is an eye opener.

I put in my 2 week notice and they fired me the next morning. According to my old coworkers, I am still the only person to be walked out like that. Don't get me wrong I was happy to leave, but being thrown out still felt like shit. Luckily, my new job let me start early and was way better and paid more.

It's a typical move by a company that doesn't want you spending 2 weeks down talking their company while up talking where you're going. They also dont want you spending the next 2 weeks trying to poach their employees.
