***** - This brought back such a good memory for me, my Dad had just had heart surgery and was recovering at home, and was having a really tough day. This must have been late 1997 or so, this skit came on TV and he laughed so hard, for so long, he almost tore his sternum back open from surgery :) You cheered him up and he thought you were the funniest guy. RIP Dad, and thanks for making him laugh. God bless brother Steve :)

@soulnull2 жыл бұрын
Right?? I saw the title and was concerned.. Until I realized it was Steve. Then I knew it wasn't going to be with malice or hate. It was just going to poke fun at everyone, emphasis on the fun part.. so rare anymore. And he doesn't need to be a "clean" comedian either, he's just a legit dude telling jokes that everyone can laugh together with. Steve is great at pointing out differences and making them hilarious without any undertones or implication of malice or judgement. Comedy including everyone, but not at the expense of anyone from a hard working genuinely funny nice person. A rare national treasure. I'm a younger dude who wasn't really around for this era of his stand-up, but starting to recognize the brilliance and genius of this hometown hero the more I see. Go get em, Steve!

This is 100% true. I was surfing one weekend and there was a guy on the beach watching. When I got out to walk back up the beach to paddle back out he said “that looks cool but you’re nuts” I asked why “he said going out in that water is crazy, there are sharks in there”. I reassured him that I had only seen one shark in 20 years then asked if he wanted to try. He put his hands up and said “no way, I’m not steppin in that water past my knees” then added “I like to watch it but like I said you’re nuts” I liked that dude.

An average summer weekend, Friday night an art show with wine and appetizers and a band, Saturday morning a little shopping and dip in the pool, maybe a movie with the grandkids. Sunday, amusement park or a festival, or a boat ride along the canal then Olive Garden.

So if a white comedian came up and said "on the wknd, ya know some black guy somewhere is doing crack in some back alley with three or four extra pipes waitin' for some friends" y'all wouldn't git offended? (the place would get torched). White people have exactly same troubles as black people. I have bad white and black co-workers, I've been subjected to police brutality in my younger days OVER NOTHING. Black comedians brain wash you guys into thinking white people have it so much better than black people.

Steve is thinking of RICH white people. The last time I went fishing I literally picked up a piece of heavy, thin metal pipe, tied a string on the end of it with a hook and a worm. I had gone with some friends who actually had fishing equipment. We were there all day. What was funny was that I was the only person who caught a fish that day and my picture ended up on the front page of the sunday edition of the local newspaper. Fish are dumb. They don't care if you have a thousand dollar rod n reel, a bamboo rod or a steel pipe with a string. I was maybe 11 or 12 years old when I did that and haven't bothered to buy fishing lures, poles or other gadgets since. Try it out. Sometimes I didn't even use a pole of any sort, just a line, hook and worm. Catching a fish like that is far better than using a bunch of fishing gear- and it really pisses off the people who've invested a lot of money in their gear. After all, what is the value of a dumb fish if you have to invest a thousand dollars in gear to catch it? Save that for the monsters. I just want to eat.

Great points. Especially investing too much money in fishing.
