African Americans are also very mixed with European blood. Hence their appearance doesn't always resemble Africans that are still in Africa - things like height, facial features and skin tone will vary. Also. Yes, most black Americans are mix but the truth of matter is, light skin is prominent in Africa as well, you will see couples with dark skin but their baby or child is light skin.
