Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but ok :)
@nappy4492 Жыл бұрын
@@WituVerdadero The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is still referred to as the Mormon Church regardless of their push to aim away from that. This is similar to how Turkey wants to be called Türkiye Cumhuriyeti, but we still call them Turkey. Regardless, the AP exam uses the term "Mormons", so you should get used to it.
@WituVerdadero Жыл бұрын
@@nappy4492 The name of Mormonism has not been changed, rather being *corrected*, as the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. According to President Russell M. Nelson, the PROPHET of this church, "Joseph Smith did not name the Church restored through him; neither did Mormon. It was the Savior Himself who said, “For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” check out the talk title "The Correct Name of the Church" by President Russell M. Nelson for more info :)
@nappy4492 Жыл бұрын
@@WituVerdadero I will not be watching the talk, and I will not respect the new name. I know it as the Mormon church, and so do most people. It's also what it is called on the AP test, which I assume you are taking this year if you are watching the video. So, you better get used to it.

Thanks for the videos. Joseph Smith wasn't lynched, he was shot and killed by a job when he was falsely imprisoned in Illinois.
@heimlershistory4 жыл бұрын
You’re correct, but I was using the general definition for lynching which means death by mob violence.
@shannoncallister68694 жыл бұрын
Great job. Joseph Smith was not lynched, by the way, he and his brother were shot by a mob. And thank you for the great videos. My students love them.

Lynching, by definition, is mob violence USUALLY by hanging, but not necessarily.

Thanks so much for these videos! Just for future reference, Joseph Smith translated the gold plates and that became known as the Book of Mormon, a record of the people living in the Americas before Columbus' time. The visions Joseph Smith received were written down in a book called the Doctrine and Covenants. Thank you so much for the videos!

I LOVE these videos!! You got one detail a little off though. Joseph Smith didn't write his visions into the Book of Mormon, he wrote them into a separate book of revelations called the Doctrine and Covenants. The content in the Book of Mormon is a record of the peoples in Ancient Americas. Again, LOVE these videos, literally saving my grade.

Heimler, I have a burning question. The "Ultimate Review Packet..." I want to get it, but does it have *all* your videos in it? Or just the unit reviews? Because I really like these videos where you go topic by topic and I want to buy those...not just your unit reviews. The unit reviews are AMAZING but they just don't go in depth enough. Thank you so so so much for what you do! I had the highest grade in my class last exam (I got a 97%) and the class average was...60%. Ouch. Thanks for getting me 40% above class average! These videos are great, I binge them right before the exam and I also find that I'm retaining way more through these videos than my dry textbook.
@lukengai49564 жыл бұрын
yes my dry textbook
@maxmocs50083 жыл бұрын
This comment is 6 months old so I hope you received an answer before you saw this, but the Ultimate Review Packet does not include the videos because they are all on KZbin. Rather, the Packet is designed to compliment the videos by providing work sheets and note sets for each, making study sessions more "enriching" and allowing you to take more away from the units. I hope this helps.

I think you should really include Mariah Stewart in the section on women's rights. She was one of the earliest feminists and was also a free black woman. She was the first woman of color to preach to both men and women. She should be added as to make sure people understand that the Seneca Falls convention wasnt the beginning of the feminist movement
