PLEASE DO NOT STOP making these videos! Literally, your videos help me understand the key information and concepts way better than CrashCourse (no offense) and other videos that try to sum up the textbook. You somehow present the information in a logical flow, one where we understand the "this leads to that" so well that you presenting this material helps me to remember it much better.

notes: agriculture: merchants introduced crops to people thta have never seen before. bad for environment. for example, champa rice came to china. even though it prompted population growth, lead to terrace farming to make farm more farmable to cutting land into sections so they can keep farming. bananas - from indonesia, came to sub saharan africa. due to the introduction of this indonesian fruit, people in africa do not have to move to places where yams were grown. population migrations, populations increase, puts more pressure on the land, such as overgrazing and can lead to the abondonment of the lands. disease: black death - comes from fleas, easily spreads deadly bacteria prevalent in human life. spreaded throughout arfo eurasia. caravansenai - places in the silk road where merchants can rest and sleep. close proximity to animals and they had fleas, led to widespread disease giovanni wrote a book about the bubonic plague, explains how iit easily spreads in human bodies and how it leads to deaths. huge population decimations in afro eurasian. workers become scarce, wages go into the hands of the surviving workers.

my notes: Agriculture Merchants travel to different places and introduce crops never seen there before Champa rice: drought resistant, could be harvested several times a year Introduced to China by merchants who traveled from Champa Kingdom in Vietnam Led to massive population growth in China Caused terrace farming: made unfarmable land farmable by cutting steps into hillsides to plant rice Bananas Indonesian merchants bring to Subsaharan Africa Bantu-speaking natives learn to plant, changed their lives Food staple - yams (lived where they could grow yams) Bc of bananas could move to regions where yams couldn’t grow Whole populations migrated (happened elsewhere too) Consequences on land Ex: overgrazing in Great Zimbabwe led to severe environmental degradtion, caused whole city to be abandoned in late 1400s Ex: Europe, land changed through deforestation, led to intense erosion of soil Combine w/ little ice age (1300s), sever decrease in agricultural production Disease Spread through merchants arriving on new shores Black Death/Bubonic Plague (most significant) Spread through fleas Fleas bite a carrier infected with bubonic bacteria, bacteria multiply in flea’s guts and have so much that it would clog up the flea’s guts, then would bit anything near (human) and regurgitate bacteria into the bite Mongols get more land and unknowingly bring fleas with them Also came from trade routes (ships that provided homes to infected rats) Merchants travel over land and stopped to rest in caravanserai (little places that dotted length of silk roads where merchants could rest and sleep - near animals and animals have fleas) Effects: when showed in a town, consequences devastating The Decameron (book) by Giovani Boccaccio Summary: the victims ate lunch w/ their friends and dinner w/ their ancestors Killed many people Ex: Europe most estimates were somewhere abt 50% Economic Black death changed relationship between workers and lords Ex: in Europe bc half population dead, workers scarce causing higher demand for labor, power to negotiate wages shifted into hands of workers

Hey man love your videos there a big help! Question, do you go over everything necessary in the ap exam or do you leave out key points of the topic? Also how would you recommend studying? Reading the entire text book? Or does it have too much filler? Or is most of the book ganna be on the exam?
@strictlyeducational14905 жыл бұрын
Taking your own notes in your own words helps a lot. The outline method is easy, and make sure to look at the essential questions and know how to answer them in detail. When taking the exam, specifics matter. You are definitely going to want to read textbooks for those specifics. Being able to answer DBQ's, LEQ's, etc. is important as well. Of course we don't know exactly what will be on the exam, so knowing practically everything and understanding causes + effects as well as change + continuity is essential.

@@strictlyeducational1490 I have a couple questions for you since it seems like you know what you’re talking about. First of all, I’m trying to focus on cause + effect and get the general theme for each topic rather than spend more time focusing on specifics. Is this the right way to go about taking notes? Also, do the essay questions ask for a lot of specific information or is it more about the big picture? Thanks in advance.
