@@DarkfireTVI think the person you were responding to might have been referencing how many remember the first (according to year) released Star Wars film as a movie saved by the editing. I’m told that the previous drafts weren’t nearly as good before it was fixed in post. I mean, I get that George Lucas was involved in future films that also saw commercial success, but you can still praise the editor that saved the first film without trying to accuse the person saying it of deliberately attempting to bury George Lucas’ reputation and deserved commercial success.

@@Jason-vn5xj in all fairness you should always keep enough distance to ensure you can make an emergency stop but i do understand how frustrating it can be when people do unexpected things. i had a similar thing, we have these huge roundabouts, even on the higways, some of them have trafficlight for going onto the roundabout and have a free just drive lane for going to the right (of the first exit) but sometimes they put traffic lights on the right lane as well. i was in a rush and saw to late that this was one of the very few that had trafficlights on the right lane, almost totaled my car (like 1-200 euro's from being totaled). no one got hurt thankfully

FYI - There are brakes on a plane and I was on a flight where the pilot used them to good advantage. As we were taxiing into the terminal you could hear seat belts popping open all over the plane. The stewardess reminded people to stay seated until the pilot had extinguished the fasten seat belt light. As we neared the extendable ramp several people actually stood up and stewardess again reminded folks to stay seated for their safety. No one listened and as we came close to the terminal the pilot stepped down hard on the brake and everyone standing went toppling forward. I can only imagine the smiles on the pilot's and stewardess' faces.

GIGANTIC Star wars nerd here, probably know more about Star Wars history than Earth history... And yeah, you're spot on here. Though there is a bit more to it than just that editor. Before filming, Lucas showed his script to his good friend Stephen Spielberg, who... had a LOT of thoughts. A great example is the title. Lucas originally wanted it to be called, "Adventures of the Starkiller, as taken from the Journal of the Whills, Saga 1: The Star Wars." Stephen was like, "How about we shorten that a little?" Stephen Spielberg is credited as Executive Producer, but it's not really a stretch to say that he has more to do with the success of the franchise than Lucas ever did. All that said... We genuinely would not have Star Wars without George Lucas, and that is a sadder world that I don't want to see. Yes, he's a terrible director. Yes, his entire story structure was beat-for-beat based on Joseph Campbell's Monomyth (Campbell was ALSO Lucas' good friend). And, yes, he seemingly did his best to run that story into the ground as hard as he could. But, he did come up with the basic premise of a moisture farmer on a desert planet who has a destiny given to him by the Force. Lucas realized that his Hero would need a sword, and came up with the most iconic weapon in human history, the lightsaber. He realized that this Hero would need a mentor, and gave the world Obi-Wan Kenobi memes. He realized that his Hero would need a villain, and gave us the iconic eternal death rattle that is Darth Vader. Han Solo, Chewbacca, the Millenium Falcon, the Death Star. Almost entirely Lucas inventions (though, of course, ILM created the iconic designs). So, I think, while there's a lot of bad shit you can say about Lucas, his effect on the film industry is a net positive. lol

STEVE! You are one of my favorite comics. I'm subscribed and can't wait to see you in Austin, TX or anywhere. TAKE THIS AND GO WITH IT. YOU'RE BRILLIANT. I totally get the point of why Heckler Fail 10 is in here and the guy was a dick for speaking in your performance. I'm a JD, but I don't practice, but your assault scenario evoked the "it's battery," because its a classic TORTS trick question, a scenario we were presented with in law school and later in our bar exams. In order for there to be assault you need to have perceived the danger. An element of assault is for the person to feel "apprehension" of offensive or harmful contact. If you can't see it or aren't aware of the contact that's coming, it can't be assault. Your pulling a mask over your eyes before it cancels out the element of that awareness. MAKE FUN OF THIS EXPLANATION TOO. I'M SURE YOU CAN. Hope to catch one of your live shows soon.

All kidding aside, one of the best ways to deal with that kind of anxiety is to just do it a few times. It'll never fully go away (and that's a good thing, if you're not at least a little nervous before going onstage, then you're overconfident and probably going to screw up), but it gets easier with time. Also, working a service industry job helps, too. It kinda forces you to experience being onstage without actually requiring you to get onstage.
