Something I do not see being mentioned much is that Dec 20 was just the START of phase II, and things will be trickling in over a period of months as outlined on the roadmap. I can't believe that Narc himself believes that everything shown in all the showcases would be there at that start of Phase II of an ongoing alpha. He is being disingenuous and intentionally misleading for sure.

In my viewpoint he was always making clickbaity content, string up drama for no reason, basically doing anything for the views, which I just dont like. This situation Is same as always but he crossed the line, making Steven angry obviously. Im on Stevens side and I hope the project will quickly overshadow any negative comments

Its a completely different thing to have a rogue CC say that and then bring the dev in like Maury and have him show off the "lies" in game. That stream with the desert was called "Development Tools", where the designers explained how they work on the environment and what they use in their work, it was not a presentation of the desert, there was nothing said about it, the footage was a presentation piece of how the desert would look at the release, and not at the start of the second phase of alpha2, which it lasted only 2 months. Why is Not so hooked on this desert? No one promised anything there, they literally showed small sketches that differ little from the current state of the desert closer to the border of the river lands. There is only no transition to the "underworld", but at this stage it should not exist, since the underworld is still very far away. It was a presentation of THE TOOLS USED, not THE DESERT'S READINESS. A statue? Maybe she is not in this place, what is currently available? Now there is only 30-50% of the desert, and if you enter the desert completely, then it affects the entire economy and resources as a whole, why introduce it now if the current environment of river lands is still enough to test the resource system. There is no logic in introducing 100% desert if our riverlands have not been fully tested. It's pointless... Personally, I didn't even expect to see a desert or tropics on alpha, but they were added already in phase 1 Why do people see what they want to see and not what it really is?...

Narc thought he was a spokesperson and representative for AoC. AoC in turn, rejected him with concerns of “culture” differences.. Pride hurt, feeling he he deserved better treatment because he’s done so much to advertise and spread AoC awareness.. narc says some wild shit, Steven tells him to take a break.. and Narc cry’s - makes up some guilt excuse, lights a match and walks away.

That's the crazy part, like Steven hinting to him and other detractors to take a break from AoC updates was warranted advice because his vids were really minute nitpicks the past year or so. The fact that he took it a bad way makes him seem immature and irrational to sound advice and concern for his mentality towards a f***ing video game lol.

I'm a player joining in Alpha 2 - I love it, has huge potential, everything we were told we would get is on track. Narc a sad little twat, as evidenced by that last clip of him I'm glad he's not in the community any more.

A friend and I reviewed his transcript, the video, and the video where Ashes refutes him, and there is enough material to sue him for defamation! He's a kid trying to get attention. Narc's allegations: In one of his streams, Narc stated: "The state of the game is simply a lie and does not match the version shown." "What was shown is not the current state of the game, it is just an idea, a concept." "It is not showing what is really there." "They are lying about the state of the game." All these allegations given his way of exposing the video were not criticisms, they were deliberately attempts to harm the project, given his distorted mind, not to mention that most of the things he said were false and/or distorted, deliberately trying to cause harm and/or trying to attract likes. Making it clear that opinions and allegations are very different things, he is lucky that the company does not want a bad repercussion and will not sue him, but they should!

I get why Narc imploded the way he did, I think we've all had this one game we've wanted to see go in certain directions, got too emotionally invested into only to be left completely disappointed and leave it on a bitter note. The difference is that we're just some player, he's the largest content creator for that project. Our opinions do not impact anything, his ranting does. I will say I was hoping AoC Alpha 2 would launch with a bit more features, the fact that we could compare it with Alpha 1 and say it has less content than it used to have in UE4 is worthy of worries. But Intrepid has been honest about their work and ambitions, now it's just a game of patience and money.

Im personally glad they didn’t open up an entire new biome, we would be too spread out and the data capture would be sparse at best.

This reminds me a lot of people raging out over Stormgate releasing into early access beta and expecting it to be as polished as current day Starcraft 2 with all the expansions, patches, and balancing. Game testing is not for most people I think Steven is a genius by making the alpha tests expensive and actively telling people not to play it on top of a 90 day refund. Hope Tim from Frost Giants sees this drama so he can apply it Steven's logic to his own PR.

Hey brother, I just want to say that I appreciate the video and how unbelievably clear it is on who said what. I’ve followed you and Ashes for years now. It was good to hear you summarize what was said without bias until you gave the opinion once it was clear what had been said. I didn’t watch the 3 hour vid from Asmon so I’m glad I watched yours instead. I used to watch Narc when he first started until about 2024 when he just went off the deep end. Guy was cool dunno wtf happened. I know not everyone likes Asmongold, I watch him every now and then and he doesn’t always have the best takes but he really did a solid with these interviews even if it’s for content. Cheers dude.

My hot take would be that, the desert doesn't have to be complete because people want to play this game so much that intrepid can put a price on the alpha testing and people will throw their wallets at intrepid so that they can play ashes of Creation. If Stephen claims that there is 🎉110,000 players that are testing and they charge $250 to be a part of the alpha testing that is about 27 million that intrepid has received just so people can test the game. If this math is right which I doubt it is thus and impressive profit. If the math is not correct please steer me in the right direction

Ok I have changed my opinion. While I am not on board with everything, I can defenetly say, that the asmongold steven interview rebuild my trust to steven. It is so sad to me that this game has this submodel. I just hate that. When I play a game I want to own it not just rent it. Otherwise I would play this game even if it still has bugs and incomplete content.

If I'm being my most charitable, its just that Narc doesn't get game development and needs to exercise more charitability reading Intrepid's updates and humility with things he quite clearly doesn't fully understand. But... that clip of him eating however clearly shows the sad truth. He is unhappy, and completely biased by his personal hatred for Steven in particular, and in doing so does what he has always done on his stream. Be a narcissist, a bully, and someone who hides behind the "its a joke" boys culture ribbing to be an asshole. Best of luck to him in fostering a community like that in the long term, but if he and them walk away from the Ashes Development and stop defaming and shitting on people, then I only see it as a net positive for the future of this development. Good riddance, be a better person, and foster an output that's more positive to those around you.

Great video, the stream clip of Narc calling Stephen a kent was very disappointing. It's extremely uncomfortable to think someone who genuinely wants a game to do well, would take a personal vendetta against the CEO and make a misleading video which not only impacts Stephen but all of his employees and their families. It's very self centered, entitled and destructive behavior. It screams 'my ego is hurt' and as someone who loves MMORPGs i play New World, i haven't been following ashes much so when i first watched Narc I was shocked to see it may be a scam. Very misleading.

Narc has always been like that. He's autistically invested in every little detail until his patience runs out and he goes full doomer. He goes back and forth between these two states all the time. Imo he's just salty he still has to wait. I get it, I'm also disappointed. It's fucking 2025 already lmao. Game's taking FOREVER. I like Narc. everything I have heard and see of narc is that he is extreamly two faced, he went after piratsoftware as an example saying on thing to his face and then tring to tank thors company and game, I highly suspect narc made demands of steven and ashes because he felt entitled to having control of the games direction and steven said no so now narc is trhowing a tantrum and trying to tank the game I bought into the game over christmas and like I wish I had bought in earlier what I have seen in this alpha is more than most AAA games have on release oh and as I have expiriance in game and app development I know exactly how much of a pain implimenting a new thing is without it bricking the computer your testing that app on so seeing the progress intrepid have done this year alon is NUTS its mind bogling

Also I get the dude I watched the original video, part of it , as i got bored oh him going around and around like a ferris wheel , by the 10th minute is was clear it was personal not objective like he hinted at the start. Else, you put too much faith in his following. I talked to some of his followers, and whatever proof you show doesn't matter. I even quoted Narc from the livestream clip you showed and asked why he would say something that contradicts himself. They responded with is it not okay to dislike someone? When i responded asking if it would be okay if I went to their job and made up lies about you, and tried to get you in trouble would that be okay? As an example response. Their response was if I'm selling keys for $250 on a false pretense then I would say it is fine. There is no reasoning with them
