This video was really hard to watch but I had to cover it. Steven Crowder has never been my favorite, but this new information about his divorce and the way he's controlled and mistreated his VERY PREGNANT wife makes me sick. I get a little angry in this one.

i dunno if he is a narcissist but if he is.....narcissists believe really weird things. My ex when he found out I took heart meds seemed to have this belief that I should just be able to like....control my own body through my mind? (I get that the mind is powerful but its not that simplistic). oh and he thought UTIs were like an STD or something and I had to tell him a few times they're not. dude was a young, well paid attorney who graduated at the top of his class and last I checked (to make sure he's still many states away from me), is working for his state's supreme court. The way she says “I’ll have someone pick me up, who would you like me to call?” is very indicative of someone who’s dealt with this behavior before and has learned how to survive it. Even when she gets what she needs, she has to compromise something or give up some kind of control in order to get it. She’s letting him have control of who picks her up because him having any amount of control is probably the only thing that’s ever ended the conflict. I’ve been through abuse my entire life and seeing how she reacts to him is so sad. I hope she’s healing

@cymbelinebritain6799 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. I saw that leaked video a while ago and I could tell immediately from her behavior that this was not a first or one-time only occurrence. She was worn out and worn down. When you're in abusive relationships, and especially if you have young children (I had 6) to take care of, you don't have the energy to continue to argue over who is right. You have absolutely no idea how important sleep is until you're kept up for 3 days at a time by someone who is berating and insulting you. (of course when they're done, they go to bed and you're left taking care of all the kids and the house, etc.) You're mentally, emotionally and physically spent and all you want is peace so you'll concede to just about anything just to get it.

Crowder reminds me of my bio dad who was actually like this during my parents’ divorce. He constantly complained that my mom was really the bad guy taking away his kids, etc etc when he was, like and unlike Crowder, actively abusing not only my mom but also my siblings and I. Divorce is always traumatic for kids no matter the situation. But just because something is traumatic doesn't mean we can't learn from it. Leaving toxic partners teaches children to be more choosy and have higher standards for themselves when they start dating. If you stay with someone who disrespects you for the sake of the children, you teach them it's okay to be treated badly or even treat others badly. I hate when people use their children as a cop-out because they themselves are too afraid of change.
@jackiehuff7736
@jackiehuff7736 9 ай бұрын
@rewdskwid that's not true. When my parents split it wasn't traumatic at all. While I acknowledge that might not be the common experience, it is possible to have non traumatic divorces. My parents essentially stayed friends, never argued in front of us, and still celebrated holidays and special occasions together. Their personal lives suffered a bit, but they made that choice to put us first.

@@blueismylove3128 piece of garage ehh. Perhaps you should look at the fact she is trying to play dirty and set him up because she knows he always promised to keep their business private. But of course your problem is you believe all women are innocent victims and can’t possibly be manipulative evil spoils brats. I have personally known over a dozen women who have bragged about getting their husbands falsely arrested for things they did not do so they could “get it all and full custody without having to pay for a divorce.” Yes these women said this shit. They also have been horribly abusive to their husbands one would spend all the money he earned for lavish vacations for herself and not allowing him to come but stay back and work so she had more money to spend when she came home. She would take all his paychecks put them in an account that only she had access to and she bought houses in only her name and took vacations probably 9 months out of the year as he only worked nonstop. He ended up dying never getting to enjoy his life or travel and now she’s freaking out because she can’t take more vacations not that her husband is gone. I’m a woman and I’m sick to death of women abusing the power (they should not even have) over men. Literally holding many hostage. So perhaps before you go believing everything a scorned woman says you should wait till all the facts come to light.

If these men are so shitty then why are these women marrying them and not having just one child but several knowing full well the can take the screws to these men for their own financial security, which a lot of women do. Women are way more calculated and vindictive than people like to admit, just like this very pregnant lady that should have accepted her husband's offer to go get groceries and even grill steaks for her. But no she had to leave very pregnant with his two babies and then have the audacity to say "I'll be back when I'm back", very reckless of her that pregnant with twins. Then she throws abuse around while he's the one saying she cut him off from friends and family which she completely diregarded. Seems very calculated of her knowing a camera was there.

@ElizabethMidfordHatesCops
@ElizabethMidfordHatesCops Жыл бұрын
Narscisstic abuse isn't actually a thing! There is physical, sexual, emotional, and mental abuse. Typically, when people use the phrase "narcissist abuse, they are referring to emotional and mental, but not always. Seeing as being a narcissist is a personality disorder (NPD) which is a part of Cluster B, people with NPD do not have a specific and unique way of abusing people. And not everyone with NPD is abusive, just like with any group of people. People with NPD are also not more likely than others to commit abuse, and it is said that they are more likely to harm themselves than others. I hope this helped you learn a bit!
@corneliahanimann2173
@corneliahanimann2173 Жыл бұрын
@@ElizabethMidfordHatesCops I am a bit split on this comment. Not that I entitely disagree with the content, but because I don't like the gatekeeping reaction people have to say that only people with a diagnosed mental health issue get to describe themselves with the issues the disordered people usually have. Like, I think I can speak about having more adhd-typical issues with focusing, or describe your way of cleaning up as ocd like. I myself actually have adhd, and while I wish people wouldn't selfdiagnose without ever seeing a professional, I do think that someone who has a similar struggle to me, gets to describe it as an adhd thing without having implied diagnosis, because mental health disprders exist on a spectrum and when the sbove person speaks of narcissistic abuse, I think we can safely conclude that this is stuff that most people who experienced abuse in correlation with a narcissist, are experiencing a similar thing. I know NPD is a more nuanced and complicated topic, but I don't personally know if Crowder actually is a narcissist, I think he could also be one of the many people that are neckdeep in theie coping mechanism from complex post traumatic stress disorder. It could be a lot of things actually, but narcissism is commonly a defense mechanism, and as someone who was raised and abused by a narcissist, I think describing something as narcissistic abuse is just a fitting description of what is going on. No matter what Crowder is dealing with in his mind, he is so lacking in empathy that it has a disordered nature when he speaks to his wife. He can not help but continue to inteepret his circumstances in any other way but only from the one lense that mskes him look like the victim. Whether or not that is his condition, it definitely feels like it is. Maybe we need to see the difference between established terms like "emotional abuse" or "physical abuse" and understand it as an adjective that describes a noun.

And wouldn't you know it, when she first separated from him her biggest fear was that she couldn't take care of herself or my little brother financially, and the church did shun her because she couldn't prove he had been unfaithful. He then spent the next like 5 years dragging out the divorce trying to prove she shouldn't have custody of the youngest sibling but luckily he showed the judge his entire ass in the process. He went through like 4 lawyers and the church member who bankrolled him finally quit doing so. The level of delusion in this narcissism is terrifying.

I have a suspicion that what Stephen means when he says "I want to protect my children" is "I don't want my children taken away from me." The reason he keeps emphasizing how the divorce is not his children's fault is because he's afraid of losing custody and visitation. Basically "it's not the children's fault, so don't deprive them of their father." Which is ironic, considering how hands-off he's been, but he probably just wants to retain influence and control over them since they're his. He is trying to use them for emotional manipulation, and I wouldn't be surprised if he sees any sort of custody negotiation as his wife "bringing the children into the divorce," even though that's something EVERY divorcing couple with children needs to work out.
