My brain was swelling and there was no other choice than to take my second daughter out early. She was a second trimester baby at barely 27 weeks and was a whopping 2lbs 4oz. She has some mild lung issues when she gets sick and “grew into” epileptic seizures at age 6 from the brain bleed she had in the nicu. But she dances, does musicals, reads, runs around with neighborhood friends, and brings us immeasurable joy because of the strivings we have witnessed along this preemie journey. She is now one the tallest ten year olds in her class and other than occasional seizures, she is very healthy…even after the third trimester was taken so abruptly from her. The doctors told us that they can tell when some babies are being prayed for and thought that about her.

My grandson was born one day short of 27 weeks gestation. He had to be delivered due to my daughter developing sudden onset preeclampsia. He’s a feisty 15 month old now, walking around furniture, climbing everything, and loves playing with his 2 older brothers. Each time he smiles I’m reminded of this little miracle that spent his last trimester, basically, developing and growing in the nicu. He brings us so much joy and I can’t imagine life without him. He weighed 2 pounds and 1 ounce at birth.

Stuckey's position leads to a situation where progressives are more easily able to enact more permissive laws on abortion, and to more abortions, and two abortion being promoted in schools and government institutions. Stuckey's position is not feasible for governmental policy. It just makes it easy for leftists.

I believe it is for us and partly about us. We are the reason he came and he is the reason I live. Among other things, Scripture tells us about God as well as who we are in him. New creations. Sounds like another channel attacking other believers in the name of God. Very sad

I'll never forget when I first got saved. I found my first church in NJ and the Pastor was charismatic in terms of fire & brimstone, not "a charismatic" in the religious sense. I just mean he had a lot of passion in the way he preached and it got thru to me, a former gangster from the streets of NYC. Getting saved does not mean you forget everything you ever learned on the streets. It just means you don't live that way anymore. You give your life over to Jesus, but I was still in my infancy as a Christian, not too far removed from the streets and my buttons could still be pushed. Well this Pastor dressed sharper than me and I was the best dressed guy in the mob life. He also had nicer Jewelry than me, but none of that bothered me. I was flashy too and really didn't know any better. However, one day I was walking in the front door to the church, where the Pastor's parking spot was, and I see a brand new Mercedes Benz (special edition). If there's one thing I knew it was a swindler. I had never been swindled, but I'd swindled enough guys to know what it looks like, and I knew this Pastor bought that car with my tithings. Other people standing around knew it too. When I asked them if that was Pastor's car, they shook their heads YES in disappointment. Unlike the rest of them, and to their credit (not mine), the first thing that popped into my head was GETTING ALL MY MONEY (tithings) BACK. So I went and rented one of those truck freezers, where you keep certain market deliveries frozen. I then went and filled it up with rancid meats of all varieties. Then I went to the church on an off-day, located the Pastor, told him I was selling Grade A meats off a truck, the best of everything (steaks etc.), and if he wanted too I would sell him the whole truck of meats for HALF PRICE (cause I liked him 🙄) and I would help him unload it all into his basement freezer. Well being the swindler that he was ... HALF PRICE ... he jumped at it, as I knew he would. So we unloaded the truck into his freezer, I got EVERY DIME I ever gave him (and more) back, and never saw him again. I just drive away laughing, but I wasn't quitting Christianity so I found another church with a different kind of Pastor. Passionate, but mellow. Good man. Now I've been saved for 20 years. BTW that was a big church, the first one, and it just happened to be mostly white. Remember I told you other people were disappointed when they saw that Benz? What I didn't stick around for was to see the degree. Well I happened to be driving by like two years later and out of curiosity (Holy Spirt?) I felt compelled to peek inside while a service was going on. The church was half empty (used to be full) and all the parishioners were black. The Pastor, not that it matters, was white.

If abortion is on the level of slavery (which it is, if not worse), why should we vote for any candidate who has this squishy position that’s practically pro-choice? If this is going to be the stance, republicans deserve to lose. And if they lose, they need to know that it’s because they did not stand up against the evil of abortion. It should be unthinkable for a Republican to be anything but outspokenly and completely pro-life. But if we continue voting for candidates who capitulate, that’s never going to happen. They’ll know they have our votes locked up no matter what because, hey, better than Biden!

I'm still emotional about the ectopic pregnancy I had. When you said that when the mother and the childs life are both threatened, we save the life that we can.. it brought back those emotions. Because the baby could not have been saved. There was no chance for him ( or her) to be saved. That's always been hard for me. Knowing they never had a chance. It's deeply sad and there is still greif there for the child I feel we lost. Even knowing that it was impossible to have carried that baby, the knowledge that I allowed the doctors to give me a shot that caused the cells of who couldve been my child to break down and be absorbed back into my body... the thought is disturbing and difficult for me. I cannot fathom the kind of disassociation a woman has to go through and self denial to recover from choosing to have an abortion. Whether they admit their grief and maybe it was difficult for them, or especially if they have reached a point where they are able to be proud and convinced of their righteousness in the matter.

We unfortunately have to take the pragmatic approach on abortion because in our declining culture, we pro lifers are in the minority. All those hate filled abortion clinic protests years ago didn't help our progress made during the Reagan years. As much as we want this to be a murder issue, it is and has been a political issue for decades. Democrats campaign on fear, and this issue with images of screaming pro lifers, fits that campaign narrative. When we started to engage in legalism without compassion, we dropped the ball. Reaching the hearts of pregnant women will have more impact than any laws.

So is there a difference between Steve Furtick’s sweater and a pastors $3000 suit? It’s so obvious Furtick isn’t even trying to disguise in sheep’s clothing. Most believers would attend a church where the pastor wears a nice suit and not question it because it’s a suit. I used to attend a church where the pastor wore designer suits and clothing (not flamboyantly) and yet he would preach on tithing every other week.
@lindsayvara74307 ай бұрын
I think the difference is a sweater doesn’t last but a suit is an investment that will last a man years and many wears. He could wear the same suit every Sunday and no one would think anything about it. No man is wearing a pink sweater every week.
@anniewithane28517 ай бұрын
A $3000 suit is ridiculous as well.
@anniewithane28517 ай бұрын
Truthfully, I don’t think a suit is necessary. If a man is speaking the truth a dress shirt and khakis is fine. Anything normal and not drawing attention to yourself as far as the coolest style or expense.
@MarilynHauck7 ай бұрын
I disagree with her that Furtick is a false profit. However, I think it was pretty stupid of him to spend $3000 on a pink sweater. He’s making Christians as well as God look bad. So we should pray for him that he gains wisdom and that spends his money more wisely. Everything we do should glorify God and this definitely did not glorify God in any way. There is nothing wrong with buying quality clothes that will last, but this isextravagant. We should all pray for him rather than accuse him.

@MarilynHauck7 ай бұрын
Yeah, I had no problem with Furtick’s message. He was saying that Jesus has risen so we do not have to live in our depression or misery anymore. We do not have to stay in our sin, but that our victorious over it. I think Furtick was unwise in buying that extravagant sweater, but I would never call him a false prophet. I think we should pray for him that he become wiser with his finances. Everything we do should glorify God. I’m with you on this Allie I’m so tired of people acting like getting pregnant is such a tragic thing to have to “deal with” and “make a tough decision”. I’m so over it. Instead of talking about just being a responsible person and making better choices that don’t get you pregnant in the first place! Argh it’s making me angry.

You’re not crazy Allie, you are standing for life!!! Rape is not a reason to murder a baby.

Allie Beth! I just wanted to say that I so appreciate your commitment to continuing to vocalize your anti-abortion views despite the pushback from conservative "pro-lifers". Thank you. I know you get a lot of negative comments when you criticize Trump so I just wanted to say that I am glad when you offer critiques! He is not a perfect man, and it is not Christlike to endlessly praise a flawed human being for the sake of your side winning elections.

It's a huge pet peeve of mine the way so many people pronounce exegesis/eisegesis... 😅 It always sounds like you're saying exe-jesus lol. It's "gee-SIS" 😆 just thought I'd throw it out there!

This is one reason I really appreciate clerical vestments that someone might see for example, in Anglican and Lutheran churches. I know that everything following this sentence can be accomplished within church traditions without vestments, I just wanted to share that vestments have a practical function within the liturgy that is pastoral towards the laity. Vestments kind of camouflages the pastor into the rest of the service/context. It hides the man's cool factor and everyone knows that they are there to be a part of the liturgy and to minister to those who are there by preaching and administering the sacraments. Vestments aren't necessarily meant to invoke ideas of status within the church, but to offer a real and practical function in the liturgy that is ultimately beneficial to all who are there.

Does it really matter how much the sweater is or what the pastor wears if the message is biblical and edifying and if his congregation is also being taken care of? Pastors of large/mega churches often have multiple streams of revenue aside from their salary. Who knows if the clothes were gifted to him, purchased on sale, etc., and it really doesn’t matter. It isn’t the congregations place to question or judge how much he spends on clothing or what he’s wearing. The point of listening to a sermon is to walk away spiritually fed. When high-earning Christians in other professions wear “flashy” clothes or accessories no one questions, judges, or says it’s wrong. Why is it any different for a high-earning pastor? I feel like Christians who focus more on what the pastor is wearing than what he’s teaching are focused on the wrong thing.

Ideas for mother's day... Small baby foot on the stomach with typo "Lk 1:41" with toes as typo "Mat 10:37". For father's day " we can print quiver slung across the t-shirt with the typo "Psa 127:4-5", the number of arrows can be customizable to the number of kids that person has, with the names of kids on the arrows".

Yes!! From my late teens ( now early 40’s) I’ve said “ If you can’t get LIFE right, you will get nothing right.” Abortion has always been my number one priority when voting. It’s sad to see so many politicians wavering.
