He's a good manager and seems fairly careful with his words. I was brought up a Rangers fan so have been fairly familiar with him in recent years. The Rangers and Celtic jobs aren't really comparable with the Premier League because it's a totally different scenario but they have their own challenges, especially conduct and dealing with a really rabid fanbase. I think he's learned a lot from the experience of that goldfish bowl and early signs are he'll do well for Villa. Good luck to him. It's about time some ex-England players made it as managers again (over more than a season or two). It used to happen more often in the past.

I am so grateful to have followed Gerrard's entire career right from the very start. I remember watching an interview of him in his early teen days, when he had yet to impress in the senior team. When asked who his favorite player at the club was, he replied "Michael Owen". Coincidentally, I fell in love with Liverpool because of Michael Owen as well. And so i just kinda had a soft spot for Gerrard from the early days without knowing what an absolute legend he would eventually become for Liverpool, dwarfing even Owen himself. Now to see him building his career in management gives me that same feeling - he's definitely going to establish himself as one hell of a manager in the days to come. Not all the Liverpool teams he was in were mediocre mate, that’s harsh. Unfortunately he never had more than 5 or 6 decent players around him at the same time, that’s the thing. He came close to winning the league twice, and won enough cups. @@abhaysreekanth even if he left at the end of the season he will still go down as 1of the greatest goalscorers in liverpool's history but even if he stays to end his career at Anfield he can't surpass Stevie g being home bred and winning games when no -one on the pitch could turn it around I could pick out many games but against ac Milan & west ham in the cup final west ham were superb if stevie hadn't played that day it could have been a very bad day at the office as west ham were superb but Stevie puts on a 1 man wonder show and also ac milan the best club side in the world there was 1 thing that a brilliant ac or superb west ham never had was stevie g the greatest liverpool player ever
